They obviously misplaced the #1 car for #100. No other car on that list, or any car in history for that matter, has been used for as many different purposes as the aircooled type 1 vw platform. That list is based simply on the opinion of car enthusiasts, not upon objectivity. Not only did the creation of the vw beetle bring about the era of cheap, dependable, and expendable transportation, but it also revolutionized auto customization in so many aspects. It's platform has been used for everything from dune buggies to kit cars, it's engine format from airplanes to air compressors to powering 6 and 7 second dragsters. You can make a vw beetle into a 9 second street car, a baja bug, an autocross car, a manx style buggy, or a 250k mile daily driver if you want. Modification of the beetle brought about the entire 4cyl import street car revolution. There were 12 second all motor street bugs back when honda was still making cars with chain drive. And, there are no cars on that list in which you can remove a 225 lb engine by removing 4 bolts, a few screws, and a few wires. THAT is why the vw beetle is the single best car in history. You cant make a list such as they did based on anything but opinion. Otherwise, there would be no competition for the beetle based on objectivity. 93 93/93 |
list is soo great imma go out and buy a c2 vette right now...sike...i dont like the list much
|
Funny that the new Vettes didn't even make it on there....but a C2 did..and at what? # 97 lol. That list is a joke.
|
On this list according to them a GT40 is a worse car than a Golf GTi, rediculous.
|
This list is horrid.....

None of those cars on there are the greatest cars ever made. It's opinion based. Do you know anything about the C6 Z06? It has produced chart topping laptimes at the nurburgring. The price of the car, (70,000) cmon man... a 1/4 roaring - nurburgring slashing sports car for that price??? The car is revolutionary for its time. Just research the car more, before you banter about my opinion. To the standards you STATED, it should be on the list. And considering the cars youth.. it'd be near the top. (IMO - #1) |

Add: Corvette is a sports car with the rest of them, but to me even an older ferrari that doesnt perform as well is a Ferrari, it has the name, the history, the passion, balance etc.etc. (at least they seem to). When I think of the corvette, I think good performance, good price, very little class. Duno if thats wrong or not |

you may want to edit that before the hole gets any deeper. You may get served so hard im not sure you will ever recover. |
And the Corvette doesn't have the racing pedigree? Cmon now CN, you should know better than make blanket statements!
As with all lists, I disagree with it a bit. But I love seeing different opinions... |
this list is dumb..
|
Guys I didnt make the list so take it up with top gear lol. Im done posting here, argue amongst yourselves
