SJR Autocross Sunday 9/23 at Camden Community College

Just curious who was going to be out there. I'm actually going to make an SJR event for the first time this year. Need to test out some new alignment settings before the finall WDCR event. Anyone else going to be there?

piknockout 09-21-2007 08:53 AM

Anybody?

Ill be out there. Aaron is pre-registered. He didn't show last weekend when he pre-reg. but i am willing to be he will be there this weekend.

piknockout 09-21-2007 09:57 AM

Yeah, he'll be there. We're going to finish up his bushing install either today or tomorrow so he'll be testing that out on Sunday. Increased my camber from -2.0 to -2.4 and it feels REALLY good on the street, so I'm definitely interested to see how it does on course. Although, I'm not sure how much knowledge I'll gain running on Camden's sandy/lack of grip lot.

You also forgot to add the mini obstacle coarse that is represented by the speed "dips" on the lot.

piknockout 09-22-2007 09:43 PM

See you in the AM. ;)

Charged SVTF 09-23-2007 01:20 AM

Yes sir. Tell Aaron to take it easy on me in SM lol.

And I like it French Vanilla with cream and sugar.

Pretty good day overall, I'll post up video later on. It was a pretty good course for the lot, although the lot surface is less than desired. And for some reason that lot seemed to favor street tires over r-compounds. I know Aaron and Simmons had trouble getting good traction. Simmons rode with me and was shocked at the amount of grip I was getting. Top 3 PAX were street tires and 3 of the top 4 for FTD were on street tires. Too bad I coned away my fastest run and threw away the PAX win, but it is what it is. Saw you running out there as well. Looked like you were doing pretty well. If you're interested in being more competitive in S(pend)M(oney) class, I say your next two mods should be a diff and r-compounds. I know you were lighting up that inside wheel out of every corner.

Congrats on the win Josh! I was hoping you would get the win, as it help me maintain the class lead in points.

I usually do quite well on that lot as well. I guess if you're not going to get grip, you might as well be running in ST* and get some nice PAX numbers.

piknockout 09-24-2007 10:36 AM

I was hoping you would show up, but alas you suckered out you punk. :p

Yea, I heard yall AutoCross studs talking about that.

Yea, I know I cannot compete with stock suspension, drivetrain, and tires....but till I execute my plan...."Get Money".....i am SOL. I hope to find that good job, but seems thats much more difficult than AutoX.

Was funny see yall run from the Philly Region. You can really see the difference in quality driving and why that region is so competitive. I know yall have to be on your game when over 250 cars compete somedays lol.

I will have some pictures up of you and Aaron running compliments of my friend Jon that came out. The dude took over 1000 pictures lol.

piknockout 09-24-2007 11:00 AM

That's great, I love pictures.

And don't worry about the setup, it all takes time and money. I know my car is now 5 years in the making, and Aaron is around 7 years. Right now the best thing to do is to continue learning how to drive the car faster and be a better driver. There's always work to be done on that front now matter how long you've been autocrossing.

I started modding my car heavily back in 2004, which happens to be the same year I started work after college (graduated fall 2003). It all comes with time. The important thing for now is to keep working on running the right lines and doing the best with what you have. I recommend coming out to a Philly event sometime. The lots have more grip, so you might spin a little less. It's also good to run with different people and learn from them all, and some of the Philly lots let you open it up and test your skills at higher speed elements.

Can't wait to see the pics!

piknockout 09-24-2007 01:15 PM

Definitely. If that's the only lot you've been on, you'll really enjoy a Ripken/Warminster/Fed Ex lot.

Yea, I hear ya....and I want to go....but I need a timing belt and some other maintenance. My greatest fear is breaking out there and being stranded.

But here are two 19" wallpapers for you!

Yep I agree that it takes time to get your car setup correct for Solo2. I am going on 5 years now and I am still learning the car because every change I do makes me have to relearn the car a bit. Tires made a big difference for me.

piknockout 09-24-2007 09:04 PM

Sweet, thanks. Let me know if he has anymore.

Charged SVTF 09-25-2007 01:09 AM

I have a bunch. I think there are a dozen of your car. I can give you the original files which are huge. Just wont be good to send through email since a lot of servers wont send bigger files.

I could mail a CD or something like that.

piknockout 09-25-2007 08:34 AM

Sent PM.
