it's an s14 the JDM are same exact thing, max you can do is do 95-96 to 97-97 front or do a strowbary face, whitch has been done way too many times

starkos14 07-24-2005 01:04 AM

why? because no one wants to attempt it. no one has it. the s14 is the closest thing to an actual r33. you can even drop in the r33 skyline gts motor in. also, the s14 is 500lbs lighter than an actual skyline. i've done an insane amount of research... asking why isnt as simple as you may think. plus, all the work this project took was worth the feedback i get back. i'd say i get about one why comment every 6 months and one or more good ones every day. its one thing to have a sick car, but when its common to walk out of a restaurant and end up having 10 people talking to you about your car, thats something special.

Yes, because they think it's a Skyline. Putting on a kit that makes it look like a skyline doesn't make it a skyline. It's almost like putting Type R or RalliArt badges on the non-Type R/non-RA cars.

I never said it looked bad. I just asked why you would want to make your car look/say something that it's not. I mean, it's almost like taking an F150, dropping and kitting it, getting new rims, and slapping lightning badges on it. Either way you look at it, it's still an F150.

It's your car, do what you want. I just don't see a point in claiming something is what it isn't.

Silverfc88 07-24-2005 01:37 AM

From the pics it looks good, but I would have to see it person. I vote for new wheels also.

Much better than the Integra with S15 lights on it that I saw.

clint, in case you dont realize, you're coming off like a dick right now and thats uncalled for.
he didnt effortlessly take a few GTR badges and put them on his car, which is what you are likening it to, and its different. he's put a lot of work into converting it and i think its cool... and its certainly different.
if he goes around claiming its a real skyline and it has 500 hp when it isnt and it doesnt then i'd have a problem. but i'd guess that when people ask he tells them what it is, and thats cool.
of course all opinions are welcome here and you can say what you want, but make sure you comment about others in a respectful manner.

I wasn't trying to be a dick...and I definitely know I said twice that I thought it was good.

TROLL 07-24-2005 02:13 AM

ok its all good... but i mean its just like someone asking you why you'd modify a saturn. anyways, on with the show...

240 guy i know what you mean, my cousin used to take fieros and turn them into lambos. Its not a real one but the person looking at it will be dammed if they can tell.

I think its cool. Make it fast though. It has to live up to itself a little.

starkos14 07-24-2005 02:27 AM

thanks for the clarification. most people know it isnt real and if someone asks, i tell them its a 240. and its not just badges, i had to rebuild the entire trunk and 1/4 panels to fit those tails... and rims? YUP, NEED THEM BAD! I think XM might hook me up with cash for wheels and a custom system for HIN AC. so they will come. And for speed? almost done killing my auto trans! going with the sr motor and 5 speed. that way i will have some go.

starkos14 07-24-2005 02:29 AM

oh and by the way, there is no "kit" to buy to make a 240 to look like a R33 skyline. buying jdm parts from japan without seeing them suck.

the mike 07-24-2005 03:57 AM

You can get wheels that fit EVO's on there. I sold my EVO wheels to a guy at work for his S14.

Silverfc88 07-24-2005 05:18 AM

I think his car might be a four lug, but the 5lug conversion can be done for cheap.

the mike 07-24-2005 11:26 AM

I thought all S14 chassis were 5 lug...?
