Came across this by accident. If its a repost, I haven't seen it.

I haven’t seen this either.

Looks strange as hell.

Chris_PA 08-01-2007 06:30 PM

WOW
That must be some SERIOUS boost

ThePrimerSuspect 08-01-2007 07:11 PM

what is that valve that opens on the back side of the coupler?

WRX_JB 08-01-2007 07:29 PM

Haha thats crazy

wgknestrick 08-01-2007 07:52 PM

I almost think that is a rubber Fernco fitting from a Plumbing store. Si couplers won't do that because of the nylon mesh that is sandwiched between the layers. Si also won't stretch that far without tearing.

CleanNeon98 08-01-2007 07:57 PM

thats gotta be some serious power

goodfella732 08-01-2007 08:15 PM

Id hate to be the butterfly on the throttlebody. lol. talk about a punch in the face.

+1. Home depo parts work ok for some automotiv apps (i have used copper fittings) but using a rubber coupling with like 30psi did not seem to work very well. Looks scary!

240sxDann 08-01-2007 08:41 PM

imagine if that thing popped in your face!

lagos 08-01-2007 11:54 PM

looks like he tried to use a plumbing store coupler. its probably hurting his spool too.

240sxDann 08-02-2007 12:30 AM

Seriously though, I wanna see it pop.

Curious about that myself.

Silverfc88 08-02-2007 12:21 PM

Throttle body. That thing has some serious lag.

A Fernco will expand like that, but I've never seen one with a hump in it so it makes me think its not a plumbing part. Maybe just a cheap coupler from Pepboys or something.

that was crazy

My question is, is this after turbo and pre throttle body or the other way around...because I would think if it was pre turbo, the reverse would happen..which is it sucks in and collapses, I've seen vid of that happening on Wrx's and STi's. I'm not too familiar with the routing of piping on a Supra however, so I can't tell "where" exactly thats taking place.

garrettej8 08-02-2007 02:05 PM

that's cool. sounds like really bad compressor surge at the end.
