Any Specialty Insurance For Drivers Under 25?

Grundy had me approved, and was just waiting for a VIN number. 3 days later I got an email stating apologizing that they don't insure don't insure drivers under 25. The other specialty insurance were all 30!

I want a new car damn it! BUT, I refuse to pay these insane premiums. There has to be another option, right?

I'm surprised you are paying a lot. PA isn't that bad. Then again, I'm married so my rates are better haha.

Umm...use parents insurance, or get married, or elope or something haha.

I am on my moms insurance and its $190 a month (Just one car). Clean record, no tickets/accidents.

Can't wait for when I turn 25.:furious:

Hmm...I pay only $207 a month and thats for a 04 G35 2 Door, and my 04 Cobra, (both full coverage) and my home insurance lol.

Try raising your deductibles. That might help a little.

Go to State Farm. I'm 23 clean driving record with a 01 Z/28 full coverage. $250 deductible and all the other good stuff. I am paying $1500 a year. They give you a good student discount and also 15% off for completing a safe driver DVD. State farm all the way. I'm not on my mommys policy either

Yeah honestly, you gotta be able to get it lower than that! I am paying almost $900/year less than you through my parents on an 06 STi!

ThePrimerSuspect 07-20-2007 08:48 PM

grundys did the exact same thing to me too. im buying a beater next week so i wanted to try to get my insurance cheaper cuz im still not sure if my rates are going up from my accident.

LS2GTO 07-21-2007 12:50 AM

$6000 a year for me and thats without them knowing about my tickets. No accidents though. At least I am on my moms policy now so its only about 1800 a year. lol. I'll be damned if I pay as much money for insurance as my payments are every year...

Nors 07-21-2007 08:53 AM

I should of mentioned its full coverage and I am the primary driver. Other then raising the deductable there is no way for it to be lower, we tried every option.

CHAOS 07-21-2007 08:55 AM

why are you looking for specialty insurance? j/w

I have a bad record and was paying $2100/year through All State with the 03 cobra. The cobra and X5 together were over $6000.

now it's back down to under $2000. All State beat state farm by literally a couple thousand dollars.

As to being on a parents policy, wouldn't their name have to be on the car? That's just gay (well, not gay since it saves money, but I want my stuff to be my stuff). I don't want that. Specialty insurance is only $500/year through Grundy, full coverage for the two cars that I am looking at. If I put one of the cars on my current policy or a normal one (all state/state farm/progressive/etc) the premium for the new car alone is almost $10,000. **** THAT. That's why I want specialty coverage.

Stay with Allstate, I just turned 25 and I'm paying $75/month. Your record must be really really bad!

It's not "really really bad", but it's not clean. If I had a cheaper car and didn't want full coverage, I'm sure it would be a lot less. 2 more months and I will have had a clean record for 3 years, does that count for anythign? (NO)

Yes one of your parents has to have their name on your car for you to put it on their policy. The benefit of that is that sometimes their company can list other people as the primary driver of your cars, which saves more money. Although I really doubt they will be able to match $500 a year!

MPowerKai 07-21-2007 02:25 PM

i pay a lot because i am 22 and live in nnj
