Ah, cool. Tell him I got the overheating figured out, and I'm already dumping money into it.

nice! TSI's are sweet ass cars

PaleDSM 07-16-2005 11:57 PM

Good starting point for a project DSM.

First thing I'd do is get bigger injectors. You will outrun those 550's real quick with a 50 trim. Hell, I am running my 660s hard at a high base pressure.

Nice car, i seen you post about buying it on sjdsm.
I was going to say the same thing about upgrading your injectors.
Have fun with it.

Yeah, up in the higher revs, those things run out of steam. When the previous owner got the injectors, the car had a B16G on it. First thing I'm gonna work on is the cooling - it's a little too hot for the stock radiator.

PaleDSM 07-17-2005 07:36 AM

Before you blow money on a bling radiator I would look at a good coolant flush, cleaning the face of the radiator, and a good cap and thermostat. The stock DSM radiator will work pretty good.

I am still running the 9 year old stocker on my setup and I have no issues.

Part of the problem was that the fan was wired backwards...there was a scoop under the car to divert air across the front of the radiator instead of through it...and the radiator itself is beat up to the point where I'm amazed it doesn't leak.

Besides, I wouldn't call an aluminum radiator on a modified car "bling" or "blowing money."

also to help your cooling some heat sheilding will help alot on the exhaust manifold and on the exhaust side of the turbo

Back? This is muh first DSM (unless the Conquest counts). I've just been a DSMer wannabe for years.

It's pretty much sold....waiting on the title from the bank.

272sWrx 07-17-2005 09:05 PM

The whole thing. Took me years to perfect, I'm not about to rip it apart.

272sWrx 07-17-2005 09:08 PM

if it is perfect why are you selling it?
