Test your car knowledge!

Here is a game I thought of last night. You can ask any car related question to challange other members, such as a mechanical , historic, racing, tuning, post a pic and see if they can guess what it is, etc. Please post questions in bold so its easier for members to find them and try to answer them. The first person to answer the question correctly gets to post the next question in bold font. I guess Il start us off

I get underneath my car to do an oil change after 3k miles and 9 months. The drain pan plug does NOT budge out of place, and the oil must be changed. What is the easiest alternative to drain most of the oil out for most cars?

take off the oil cap and roll over ur car..

Two options I can think of. Option 1, take off the oil filter and let as much drain as you can, assuming the oil filter is low enough. Or option 2, get one of those oil pumps so that you can pump it out through the dipstick tube.

Do I win? :D

No...I actually gave this advice to someone on another forum when the drain plug on their caravan rusted into place and he was told sludge sealed it further.

Post your question

Intercooled T 07-02-2007 12:27 PM

How many Buick Grand National GNX's were produced in 1987 and what company made the upgrade package?

Nors 07-02-2007 12:38 PM

ASC/McLaren Specialty Products, 547

What is the estimated MPG on a modern day Formula 1 car?

You are correct sir :)

markley02 07-02-2007 01:36 PM

3 MPG (guess)

su_maverick 07-02-2007 01:57 PM

Revving to 19,000 RPM, a modern Formula One engine will consume a phenomenal 650 litres of air every second, with race fuel consumption typically around the 75 l/100 km (4 mpg) mark - stole this from F1 website

In the late 70's, GM wanted something new for their famous Corvette. They decided that the current engine was not setting the car apart enough from its competition. What was the engine that they decided to make the concept Corvette with and what were its specs?

Intercooled T 07-02-2007 02:10 PM

I'm pretty sure this was that fugly stingray concept? Almost positive it was a 6.6L 400cubic inch motor. I don't know the specs like horsepower or anythnig

su_maverick 07-02-2007 02:14 PM

nope- sorry, they were actually testing out a completly different motor from something they had ever used before.
