Can't Change Thread Title

when i go to change the title of a thread which i started it isn't working. i click GO ADVANCED, type in what i want, select to save it, but in the list of threads it doesn't show up, only in the thread itself above my post...am i missing something? thanks

From what I have heard from the other mods & the administrator, thread title changng has been disabled.

I can only reccomend what ToTheIX's suggested:

if you created the thread, what you can do is bring it up in the standard forum browser and double click the backround of the square the thread title text is in, this will highlight it and will allow really fast title editing.

I use it all the time when I need to. Also works with New Posts and basically any of the windows which allow you to browse threads.

ToyotaTat 05-29-2007 12:42 PM

ok thanks, try and keep us updated on when we'll be able to change thread titles again

SilverBulletRL 05-29-2007 12:48 PM

Dex,

The issue I'm having with the sql server shouldn't have anything to do with why people can't change the titles...

Hmm, kinda wierd.

TROLL 05-30-2007 03:38 PM

responding to d's post before he edited it, and to explain why editing titles was temporarily disabled...
i wanted to keep users from ruining well established, long, recognizeable threads by changing the thread title or first post and therefore confusing other members about how a thread they hadn't seen before already had 100+ replies, or on the other hand why they couldn't find a thread (title) that they knew was there before.
however i realized that member journals and for sale posts need to be edited, so due to logistical reasons, i have completely removed the thread title time limit.
good? good.
