so yea...i'm retarded

tonight, i stayed late at work, i was tired, hungry, and all i wanted to do was relax, and what did i do.

well, i just got the rage against the machine (live) cd so i took it out of the cd player so i could bring it inside to put on my ipod...well my car has a turbo timer so i am used to it running when i walk away, this time i did it with the keys in the ignition, in the ON position...so my car sat outside idleing for 25 minutes till the tow guy could come and unlock my crap....i couldn't believe it, i am such an asshat. oh, and i no longer have a spare key, b/c my asshole father (who i don't talk to anymore) lost it.

leave it to me to make fun of people for locking their keys in the car with it running..unbelievable

At least you noticed it, would you have been in another place I don't know if you would have a car right now.

TrboChicsRock 05-16-2007 11:52 PM

I admit it. I've done that before.

I was in Atlantic City. My friend borrowed an antenna off of another car in the parking garage and broke into my car.

Vypurr 05-17-2007 12:03 AM

I have had to break into many cars because people have done that while pumping gas. So they are stuck at the gas pump with a running, locked car! It's funny!

jc8889 05-17-2007 12:12 AM

Been there done that.

SteevoZ 05-17-2007 12:51 AM

i did that sooo many times haha. luckily it was always when i got home. I guess i was always just tired from from work and didnt think about it. I think i had mine running for about 45 minutes one time.

DC Hunny5 05-17-2007 03:25 AM

Funny story because in my old car....i locked the keys in it 2 times in one day.

and it was over little errands, like the bank and something else. ridiculous

MissDSM 05-17-2007 03:30 AM

I did that in my first accord when i was on my way to a party late one night, took them over 2 hours to get there. I ended up getting a ride to the party then back to be there when the pop a lock guy got there. lol, I did it once in a different accrd at the car wash too, the guy came right out and popped it though :)

blu4door 05-17-2007 10:07 AM

I lock my keys in my truck every day. I have a touchpad to unlock the doors though.

MissDSM 05-17-2007 10:37 AM

^^^So does my mom... i want that **** lol

turbo4g63 05-17-2007 11:29 AM

lucky for me the guy wasn't home yet or it would have cost me more, plus he said he would have been pissed....he was only 10 minutes down the road going home for the night. i've gotta get the tools that guy has, he had my car open in 30 seconds....

Buster 05-17-2007 11:31 AM

haha dude I just did that same thing last week. I had to walk all the way to my girlfriends house to get my spare key. makes you feel really stupid doesnt it lol.

Snoozie 05-17-2007 11:33 AM

Yea, he had to walk to my house and leave his car there running at work. It sat there running for atleast 20 mins.

mr_eh 05-17-2007 11:33 AM

i only got locked out once with my keys in and the car on, at vonage it was crazy icy out, so i was cleaning the windows, the car started sputtering, then stalled out, i was like hahah that sucks, go to open the door, and the car automatically locks itself when it shuts off... the headlights stayed on tho :) battery died

EvlEgl 05-17-2007 12:40 PM

I Lock myself out all the time....Errr

;)

james_ls 05-17-2007 01:15 PM

I did it one time about 30 mins from my house.

Hour round trip.

Car ran like balls...it was untuned at the time.

TGilb2007 05-17-2007 03:42 PM

I did this not too long ago at work. Started the car, cause it was cold, and went back inside for a few moments. Went back out to leave, and oops....yea I locked it. Thankfully, I have AAA for such things.

LiquidFire 05-17-2007 03:50 PM

my car wont lock if its running unless you lock it from the inside, but once you open or close the driver door it unlocks, so unless i leave my keys on the seat i never have to worry about that

Scapegoat 05-17-2007 03:53 PM

if I leave my car running I always pull the keyless remote off my key chain

circus_clown 05-17-2007 06:09 PM

i made the mistake of forgetting to turn my car off one day when i came back from lunch to work, and walked out like 4 hours later to find it still running.
