Car Accident on 272

My friend was hit head on by a drunk driver coming home from cecil dragway the other night. Luckily he survived no thanks to any of the other witnesses that just kept driving. After seeing a 350z get smashed by some drunk in a pickup truck that flipped and flew over 50 feet, i guess they just assumed that everyone was ok and they just left. I was 2 cars behind him and the person in front of me pulled over till the truck stopped sliding across the road then just took off. then the person that was behind me drove slowly over all the broken glass between the 2 totalled cars just staring like they were looking at a trainwreck. they then left without asking if anybody was ok or anything. so thank you to all of the considerate people out there!!!

just had to vent a little bit.
check out the pics to see why im so mad nobody cared.

I hate to see this! I am glad hes ok. I can't believe peoples ignorance in this matter. My 350Z had 8 airbags in it. Was his a touring, I can't tell the pictures aren't showing up at work.

the guy who hit him had no license, no insurance, and no registration on his car. so now my friend's insurance has to pay for his car and they dont want to cover everything aftermarket that is now ruined.

He had the following stuff that he didnt get back:
tein springs- $180 approx(put on the day b4 he was hit)
motordyne plenum spacer with coolant bypass- $300(2 weeks old)
exhaust(test pipes back)-around $900
jim wolfe popcharger- $150ish
1 18x8.5 sport max front wheel- around $200(a month old)
1 bridgestone re960 pole position tire 245/45r18- 150 with our work discount normally they are 300+

luckily he salvaged the other 3 wheels, his nismo shift knob that was put on the day of the accident, and a few other small things.

the truck was owned by the drunk guy's brother so he might be able to take him to court to get some of his money back.

his car was a touring edition but didnt have any side curtain airbags or anything, just the 2 front ones. he was able to climb out the window and the car still ran after the accident which is pretty amazing.

we just wont discuss the 1/4 mile times, it was his first time running the car and he forgot to turn traction control off when pulling up to the line so u can just imagine how the times turned out. lol

DC Hunny5 05-11-2007 11:01 PM

good luck with everything. hope it all works out in his favor

Njsurfrgurl 05-12-2007 03:22 PM

Most people are skerd of being sued if they hurt the person in the process of trying to help.

THERE ARE GOOD SAMARITAN LAWS PROTECTING WITNESSES FROM LEGAL ACTION.

Spread the word. :cyberguy:

z'd up 05-12-2007 07:59 PM

its not hurting anyone to ask if they are ok.... just pointing and oohing and ahhhing like you are watching fireworks isnt exactly a good samaritan... my friend wasnt on display for people to look at, he was almost killed by someone who doesnt know when to say ive had enough.
