110k scheduled maintenance...what the hell is a valve adjustment?!
OK so I have to do the 110k maintenance on the civic. Timing belt, water pump while we are in there, spark plugs, and a valve adjustment. I am not going to tackle the timing belt or water pump, but i can do the plugs. Question is what is a valve adjustment and how hard is this to do myself??? I imagine it would require turning the motor, and I dont see myself doing that. I am looking at around 1k of total cost and want to save as much as possible. Will get exact quote from my mechanic tomorrow, but any advice apretiated.

looks overly complicated

my mechanic said just to do the timing belt and water pump. he said hed also do the brake flush, coolant, and all that jazz for 250-300 for labor. if i can get a good deal on the parts online, then yay

Please don't pay him to do a coolant flush. A monkey can do that.
Brake fluid I can understand. If I do it myself and **** it up and crash into something and die, then my wife can't sue anybody. If I pay someone, and they **** it up and I die, then my kids grow up millionaires. |

Yes replace the waterpump w/ gasket, replace the Timing bely, Honestly get the OEM Honda one its worth the extra money and also replace the tensioner, vlave adjustment isn't to dificult but you should just need to check it to see if its in spec should just need a feeler guage, plugs wires all easy...honestly usually timing belkt jobs are just $300-$400 with parts and labor so i don't know if you are getting that much of a deal, coolant flush and brake flush aren't really difficult and probably not even needed...
