Nikon D40x

Has anyone had any experience with this camera yet? I just got rid of my D70s and was going to make the move to canon just to try it out but after seeing this little guy i might stay with nikon. the D70s was a little big for me and the D40x is the exact same size as a digital rebel xti. so if anyone has any feedback for me i'd appreciate it. I'm gonna see if i can go play with one tonight so we'll see how that goes.

Compare a couple of DSLRs side by side on www.dpreview.com so you can make the best choice.

i was comparing the xti to the D40x on circuit city.com and they seemed fairly similar and from what i've read the xti feels a little "cheap" in your hand and for what reason im not sure so i really have to go play with them myself i was just curious if anyone had any experience with the D40x. i was surprised to read it is a 10.2mp camera.

Give the D40X a shot, and if you don't like it...trade with me. lol

From what I've seen it's pretty nice but doesnt have the top display screen, and I think I read somewhere that it doesn't have an internal auto focus motor, so you are limited in the lenses you can get(dont quote me on that, but look into it)

it does have autofocus, this one is different from the regular D40. looks pretty impressive to me. you're right about the top display though, it doesnt have that.

the D40x has the same screen and mega pixels as the D200 and D80 and some other things i cant remember

The D40x can't use the auto feature on the AF-S and AF-I lenses. Read the article for more info on the camera.

I think i read something about the d40 not working with older lenses, something about the autofocus. Otherwise it got really good reviews.

well i just played with a D40x today and i have to say that i absolutely love this camera. i will definitely be picking one of these up in the near future. it fits perfectly in my hand and its a perfect weight. it sold itself just being in my hands.
