Workout supplements..whey protein, creatine, etc.

I used to go to the gym a lot and took Whey protein and Creatine to supplement my diet and excersize. I found that it worked well for me, and decided to get back into the game with a full diet, gym schedule, and want to bring back whey and creatine in my life. My questions are for those who use these or other products. What do you think is the best product out there. I still have 3 bottles of Creatine-1200 monohydrate (90 capsules per) and about 5lbs or whey protein by "designer whey", and all dont expire till 2009 and 2010. What are some new ingenious products out there that actually work. And lastly, what is this NO2 supplement ive been hearing about. Furthermore, what is the best site to order from as far as customer service and price? Thanks

Dont be an jackass, that junk pokes holes in your liver like you wouldnt believe. Please dont't try to modify your body un-naturally.

No thanks.

Why not try naturally first? I've had great success throughout my wrestling career with an appropriate diet and no muscle enhancements. Vitamins and whey are fine by my standards.

I thought that creatine stuff just made your muscles look big by putting water h20 in them but didnt acutally help you get stronger?

drink more, that worked for me

for NO2 Supp. Depending on what your body can handle. I have stuck with N.O. Xplode. The best NO product I have ever tried was N.O. Shotgun but it has a ton of creatine in it. I do not like as much creatine due to the fact I cycle on and off ever 3 weeks so I do not build a tolerance for the product and with a heavy creatine product as soon as you stop your muscles will just shrink.

The product you probably heard of is NANO x9 its insane. I tried it once and I had to leave the gym because I almost went insane. I stick to the stuff I know works. For me its NO Xplode pre workout, GNC Whey post workout and 2amino acids tabs for a little extra protein kick.

Cheapest site out there is Vitacost.com and they have awesome cust service.

P.S. Creatine does not just add water it will increase dermit(sp) muscle mass

Honduh 04-08-2007 04:03 PM

what the hell is dermit muscle mass?

Adam496 04-08-2007 04:04 PM

I would just stick with the creatine, vitamins, and creatine. Bodybuilding.com is a very good place for good products at discount prices.

Basically "wakes up" muscle than you didnt know you had or builds muscle that you normally wouldnt work out. Gives you that little extra kick.

So you meant to say "dormant?"

bastid 04-08-2007 05:46 PM

Right now I'm on a high protein, low fat, moderate carb diet and I'm working out about 3 times weekly with a 1 day of moderate cardio. I am also taking a small amount of creatine and glutamine daily (5g each).

CarbonIS 04-08-2007 05:54 PM

I was working out for about 4 months in the beginning of '06 without taking
anything but protein shakes, but I got to a point where I just couldn't lift any
additional weight, so I went to GNC and asked what I could do to fix that, and
I got Anavol and Aminovol. Anavol is a creatine/glutamine combo, and
Aminovol is basically a protein synthesis booster. Since I'm naturally not the
biggest guy, I do not take the full dosage that is suggested on the bottles, I
take about half or a little more. The results are noticeable. I'm just getting
back into it now, and have been lifting for about 3 weeks about 5 times a
week with an olympic bench set and free weights that I purchased and I've
already gained back about 7 pounds of muscle that I had lost over the past 7
months or so.

Don't take creatine. When I played football, me and 4 other kids got creatine poison of the liver. That's juss my 2cents.

DoubleOughtCel 04-08-2007 06:08 PM

Lol, it's cool. I was confused so I was just trying to clarify. At first I thought I was about to learn a new word today haha.

cxrock16 04-08-2007 06:16 PM

yeah if you take creatine wrong and dont drink alot of water it can screw with your liver. thats what i heard anyways

StealthTC 04-08-2007 06:44 PM

They have to have been stacking it with something or taking WAY to much for their body mass. Creatine is manufactured naturally in the body from amino acids glycine, arginine, and methionine. It actually takes place in the kidneys, liver, and pancreas. Creatine is actually just a constituent found in meats.

So when its used properly its very effective.

The suggested use of creatine is 0.3g per lb of weight(your body weight) thats for your loading cycle which is about 5 days. Than after for the rest of your cycle it drops down and recommended usage is 2.7g per day.

Hope this helps!

PS. I dont even take creatine besides what is in the NO2 product I use. As stated before creatine will give you the size but not the strength. NO2 products give you that extra push for those last couple reps that hurt the most but are the most effective in your workout.

SovXietday 04-08-2007 09:16 PM

God damn, how are these creatine myths still around? ****s been out for years!

First of all, no, creatine does not make you stronger. It gives you the ability to do more reps with the same amount of weight. Basically at the molecular level creatine acts as the bodies first form of energy, it also has the least reprocussions as far as waste goes. It doesn't last long though, and the body soon moves on to stage number 2 which is using glucose for energy which creates that good old lactic acid that we all love so much.

So, by saturating the muscles with creatine (IE, the supplement) you increase the amount of creatine in the cells, which also increases the amount of water the cell intakes which is where you get extra size. However, since there is more creatine in the cells they will have that first stage of efficient energy for a longer amount of time, thus the ability during weight lifting to put up more reps.

Creatine also helps cell recovery along with increasing brain function (alertness, reaction, thought). As far as liver damage goes, if you're using the correct dosage and drinking enough water, there is absolutely no reason why you should have any problems. As usual, illnesses and "poisoning" coming from a supplement naturally created in the body is the result of the user not following the given directions.

That is all.

StealthTC 04-08-2007 09:20 PM

Couldn't have said it bettr myself

jc8889 04-08-2007 09:47 PM

Im a little old school, I just go to the gym and work out naturally, I dont wanna get cancer in 10 years from stuffing all this BS inside me. NATURAL IS THE WAY TO GO, the down side is you gotta be commited and work real hard.
