I have an Ibanez GSR200 bass and a small Hartke amp. Got them about 5 years ago and taught myself to play tab. Unfortunately i never had the time for lessons and never got any good.
|
you could get a mexican fender strat for 350 or less they're pretty nice the wood isn't as good as on an american but i played one for awhie before i switched to a gibson, just when you go into a music store its just like going to a car dealership, most of the products sold you can negotiate and get it cheaper, never go into a music store and pay the sticker price for the item

you don't need lessons to get any good, eddie van halen never took lessons just play alot of different bands music and you pick up things and your hands get better, i have a starter bass, played bass in a band for awhile but then stopped, just have fun with it

Guitar: Taylor 714ce-LTD Koa (2008 Fall Edition)
Guitar: Martin DC-Aura Dreadnaught, 2008 Edition Guitar: Yamaha FG-411CD-B 6 string Guitar: Yamaha FG-411CD-B 12 string Guitar: Fender Acoustic Bass (I forget the model) Guitar: (electric) Hamer Californian (1987 model) 27 fret 6-string. Guitar: Krammar (Forget the model) 25 fret 6-string with some killer SD pickups and a real Floyd Rose. Universal Audio Recording & Software Lexicon LambdA interface Monster Pro Audio patch cables DigiTech DigiVerb, Compressor, various stompbox effects Koss Head Monitors Drums: Tama ImperialStar 11-piece (Midnight Blue) Cymbals: Meinl Vocals: Some kind of condensor mics, I forget the brand. Silver. Trumpet, Trombone, Sax, Piano, Violin, Viola, etc. I'm more fond of strings than anything else. Music just comes naturally to me, I learend the violin by ear at age 4. Parents always had classical and opera on in the house... none of that Mickey Mouse crap. Picked up the piano at age 8 and trumpet in 5th grade. Other brass in highschool, I got my first Fender guitar in 7th grade, played in various bands and tallent shows. Picked up the acoustic and dropped the electric guitar in College because it's cooler than electric guitar, and chicks love it. Picked up the acuostic bass about 3 years ago as a recording prop. Love it. Tried to self-teach the drums 2 years ago, gave up after a year and got tenitis from it so now my ears ring. Damnit. (screeeeeeeeeeeeeee) Got into recording in the last 6 months. It's a blast. Multi-track mastering is an art in itself and I'm still learning it. Yep. Never took lessons, except a few drum lessons to learn how to hold the sticks properly. I play the drums left footed, meaning I hit the kick with my left foot, snare is on the right with the hats to the right of the snare. Right to Left. Mirror image of what a normal drumkit plays. |
im in the process of picking up piano. any tips would be helpful haha

I mess around on a piano....currently looking for an upright grand to replace the spinet that I have. I have a Hammond M102 tonewheel organ that rocks. Payed 99 cents for it on eBay. Works like a charm. I am trying to find a matching Leslie 147 speaker for it. I rebuilt an old Excellsior accordian. I can't play the bass notes for crap, but it is fun to mess around with. |
I played the drums pretty solid for 4+ years. I had a Yamaha Stage Custom set with tama double bass, and cymbals everywhere LOL. Sold my set though. I also sing and I can play a little guitar but don't actually own one. I mess with my dads gfs acoustic. I also mix electronic with a berhinger bcr2000 midi controller though ableton live on my computer.

I have an Ibanez EX 140 something like this:
http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/disc...es/14/4512.jpg except its a nice cherry red w/ wood grain and didnt have large red ex symbol on the head. sounded pretty nice for a cheap ass ibanez, even my teachers at the time thought so. Doesn't seem to work anymore and I was gonna change out the humbuckers and the pickup. now I just been playing one of my dads guitars: USA made telecaster black w/ white pick guard a black takamine acoustic (w/ ability to hook it up to an amp) and Franken-caster.. A guitar my dad built.. Has a white body, maple finger board, Gold accessories all around. I believe everything bought was a Telecaster part, dont remember as its pretty old now.. sounds really nice. been really meaning to pick up and play again.. been a while. |
