Plasma TV problem, UPDATED

I Have a 42 inch Samsung plasma and have been getting a blue ash on the left side that is about 2 inches wide and is the full length of the left side. I only see it when the tv transitions from black to white. It is their if I switch to HD, DVD and comcast. What do you think it might be? I never let it on for a long period, I dont play video games and I never let it sit on a still images. If it is the TV I will be highly PO!

if you didnt buy a warranty, id do the same thing totheix's did, its only going to get worse. i doubt it will go away. plasmas are delicate, i dont like them for that reason only.

do you have large speakers next to the tv?

97TurboDSM 03-21-2007 06:47 PM

use the warranty and get new bulbs for it. we got ours under warranty. we might even get a few more before the warranty is up so that we have a stock of bulbs

I have Bose but they are over 3 feet away on each side and lower than the TV. If you are you thinkin magnets they aren't close enough but I can see where you are coming from. I am really looking to have some pin-point info on this when I call Samsung!

97TurboDSM 03-21-2007 07:34 PM

samsung has some really good answers on their website. check it out.

Well, I just put in a service request on Samsungs website and they are sending out a field service tech to repair in home. If this goes smooth I will have nothing to be PO at!

Ive had my plasma for a year, and about 3 months ago it started leaving a yellow line 4 inches from the right side all the way up and down the screen. WTF it pisses me off $2200

Its cool, I just heard Samsung and LG made good plasmas for the money. I guess now I will find out if they stand behind their product. Sometimes that is just as good as the actual product being sold:thumbup:

Panasonic 50'' Plasma FTW, The family just got one for the family room. I have a Polaroid 42'' Plasma in my Bedroom and the difference is night and day between the two.
