finally got an interview!

Well seeing as how most of your on here have steady jobs/careers, you probably wont care much, but I finally got an interview with wal-mart to work in the automotive department. Just thought I'd share that. I'm excited cuz I REALLY need a job.

twistedlanes 02-08-2007 06:59 PM

Nice man. I just had an interview with walmart. Suckers tryna give me $7.50 I don't want it but I need something.

PotenzaSub 02-08-2007 07:04 PM

drew 02-08-2007 07:17 PM

7.50 damn that's rough, i couldn't my insurance on 7.50 lol

i think the lowest i started anywere was 8.25 at american eagle, even that i was living at home and still couldn't pay my insurance and car note

twistedlanes 02-08-2007 07:28 PM

Man I'm 2o N I live at home too, I can't afford my car insurance either. I can't afford gas or a better car, but It is what it is. I was making ten but that was temporary, then I got on unemployment makin $600 a month. Now I'm just waitin for that phone call.

240sxDann 02-08-2007 10:06 PM

I'm not sure on pay yet, but a friend of mine who works there (who told me about the job) is makin 8.somethin, and after 90 days goes up over 9.

Broken5hift 02-08-2007 10:14 PM

if i didnt have a career id be working some day job and then stocking super markets at night. the combined pay would be worth it.

Broken5hift 02-08-2007 10:14 PM

btw, good luck man.

you should check out comcast or verizon, they will train you and the jobs get easier as the years go on

StealthTC 02-08-2007 10:21 PM

I just landed a part time job while I am going to school working locally for a small company for $11.00 an hour like 10hrs during the week but like 20hrs on the weekend. So not to bad while going to school.....I start tomorrow :)

dwagner1006 02-08-2007 10:36 PM

damn thats crazy. I could neevr survive with anything below 10. Gas alone empties my pocket. I am just holding out till the summer. I landed a internship at GE making like $25/ hour...pretty pumped

240sxDann 02-08-2007 10:47 PM

well considering I'm in highschool, and dont have any training in anything, 9 somethin aint bad. At least in my opinion.

CobaltGrl 02-08-2007 11:02 PM

How did you manage that?

95SC2 02-08-2007 11:30 PM

good luck with the job, i need to get a new one soon, either a new full time or a part time, i need money

twistedlanes 02-09-2007 12:35 AM

I'm also in school so my hours are limited. I'm about to start looking for sh** thats graveyard shift. I need some dizzo. I'm about to go giv blood I heard you can get like twenty dollars for that. Or plasma whatever that is if it's your first time you can get like forty. I'ma do it. Wish me luck.

CobaltGrl 02-09-2007 01:05 AM

I heard giving plasma is painful. If youre that hard up for cash go apply at Wawa....they seem to need more people at the registers..this is based on tha fact that I always wait in a long ass line when I go in there.

projexxx 02-09-2007 01:06 AM

wow...some of you guys are hurtin.

for highschoolers...wawa is a great company to work for. however the job sucks ass. but its good pay and duhh theyre 24/7 so you pick your schedule.

i hear keystone helicopters in coatesville is hiring like crazy. they pay pretty damn good and are a UTC subdivision. my buddy is an A&P mechanic for sikorsky helicopters (also UTC) in CT and made $100k last year. sikorsky is hiring like crazy if you want to move to CT. they start entry level in the 15-20 an hour range, and youve got full benefits from day 1. full benefits include 100% free ride to whatever school you want..as long as youre working for sik. they also pay out $5k in company stock when you get your diploma.

i work construction for American infrastructure. we do a lot of varried projects. ive made anywhere from 12.65 an hour (starting wage with no experience) to 27.99 an hour when i was running heavy equipment on the rt 309 expansion project. right now im on winter lay off and bringin home $421 a week, working out of my heated garage on my own car. Gotta love unemployment checks.

PotenzaSub 02-09-2007 01:06 AM

well, at least u're in school.

I'm 18. Not in college yet. I get paid $9.75 working at Best Buy. But, I'm applying to some pharmacy technician positions that pay upwards of $18. You have to aim high man.

deadone000 02-09-2007 01:48 AM

**** i wish i was makin 9 or better im 18 makin 7.25 an hr...it sucks but it puts money in my pocket

SovXietday 02-09-2007 01:56 AM

Yeah, it may be time to start looking for a better job myself. Making 10.60 as a senior salesman in Circuit City, they offered management which is around 40K a year but there is just no way I can deal with being a sales manager, ugh.
