New Pioneer Avic D3
 

I've had a bunch of avic's this one looks to be the coolest yet.

Saw it at ces the z1 destorys it but it is pretty cool and for 1k your not gonna be able to beat it if you will even be able to get one lol.

Yes i agree the Z1 is nice too.The D3 has some cool feature the Z1 doesnt so youll have to wait for the Z2.
Like you can change the illum to match your car.
Video ipod playback built right in.
And Z1's have had harddrive problems in the cold.

We have heard the z2 isn't gonna be that many changes.

its awesome for the price, i just wish it was prettier. big volume knob on the side is kinda stupid and a 6.1" screen is weak sauce. but... for the price, its amazing. pioneer makes quite a few good units, but some of them are just straight ugly or cheap looking. this one isnt bad, but its not great either.

I'm fine with my Alpine IVA D310.

yeah but too bad it costs 1.5x as much and doesnt have nav or realtime ipod integration... but i'm not pointing any fingers, i am an alpine guy too. i like this D3, i just dont know if i love it... hmmmm

Alpine is supposedly coming out the DD HU/screen that allows you to insert a special Blackbird in. It was supposedly debuted at CES

The current Blackbird does sync up the with existing "Multimedia" HU's though.

Back to the D3--- it gives up some features. 0.4" isn't going to kill you. It will work like the N3--- which is why I have an Ipod for music anyway
