I'm Home From the Hospital
so all day friday i was having sever pains in my stomach. around 4:30 i went to the e.r. @ Frankford Bucks campus, and then around 11pm i went in for surgery to have my apendix removed. that'ts right, i had apendicitus (sp?)...surgery was about 30 mins, everything went well, and i got home around 2 yesterday. i'm still in a lot of pain as well as an organ less than the other day. i'm on perks and what not also, and i can hardly walk. i've had a quite a fun weekend so far but i'm home now.

That sucks. My happened to my dad a few years ago. I think I remember being told that if you don't get it removed quickly enough, the appendix could burst and kill you.
|
weight savings!
ha, hope for a speedy recovery. |
wow. that sucks. glad youre ok :)
|
what was the pain like?
|
both my father and my ex had thiers removed, im told its like being stabbed in the right lower side of your stomach, severe abdominal pain sometimes accompanied by fever and vomiting. not "stomach ache" pain, like severe, "doubled over in pain" pain.
|
the pain pre-surgery was real bad. i was doubled over and couldn't drive. felt like i need to do one of several things; 1. eat 2. puke. 3. take a huge poop. thing is, i couldn't do either of those. post surgery the pain was (is) terrible. i can't really describe it, just the worst pain i've ever felt. when i was still in the hospital, the morphine and perks didn't really help the pain, just helped me to sleep a bit. this was my first surgery so i could be exaggerating a bit, but still not a fun experience. and yea i'll i'm sure i'll be losing some weight which is sorta good in a way cuz i've been trying to drop a few off this just isn't how i panned on doing it. luckily though office space is on right now (channel 164 for comcast) so i have something to do for the time being at least.
thanks for the comments too everone. |
^Trust me, the perks and Morph. worked, they prolly kept you from leaping out of your window.
We had some tough old marine guy he refused morphine post-op once, he last a hour before he was screaming. And yes, untreaded a patient WILL die of either severe shock or Peritonitis Peritonitis is an inflammation of the peritoneum (the serous membrane which lines part of the abdominal cavity and some of the viscera it contains). It may be localised or generalised, generally has an acute course, and may depend on either infection (often due to rupture of a hollow viscus) or on a non-infectious process. Peritonitis IS A SURGICAL EMERGENCY. Anywho, glad to hear the docs didnt amputate a leg or something like that lol. Let me crunch some numbers cause im at work and this will enterain me and Dr. Cipolle for a few minutes lol. I think Ill start a new thread! |
I had mine removed a couple years back. I drove my arse to the hospital and I was about and about after they cut it out (with a lot of pain of course)
