Anyone ever see a brake-disc snapped in half? i have!

So we had the meet tonite and afterwards went to a parking lot to eff around. Well we had a little fun but then saw headlights pointed towards us at the bottom of the driveway. We decide not to risk it and leave. As im pulling out i see that its not a cop, but infact a Acura Integra with Tezz's. I go over and shes crying saying she hit ice (blah, blah, blah). Anyways i dug her out (haha matt) and waited for the po-po. I decided to take a look at her wheel which seemed a little off and noticed that THE F**KING BREAK DISC WAS IN HALF!!

she was all upset saying she just got the car fixed. Then she asked how the damage was.....::crickets:: ::crickets::. haha

Wish i had some pics but im an idiot and took pics without the mem stick in the camera.

Yeah way to go Pete now there are a total of 7 people who will evAR have seen this happen. LOL

It was funny though. Especially when we all looked at it and she was like is it bad? We all looked away.

Better get to work on trying to photoshop the damage. Although that was so odd and random that I dont think that you could even photochop that.

And in the end you still forgot to give me your dv tape. lol :wiggle:

a local guy wrecked his stage 4+ wrx and his stoptech rotor snapped in half, along with his wheel. ...well the wheel wasnt exactly in half, but the spokes broke off the lip so he created a true two piece wheel.

he lost it going around a sweeping turn and hit a curb with the front wheel. his car promptly decided to flip and land on teh roof. bummer.

teh DIRT 01-28-2005 11:04 AM

yeah this chick kinda did the same thing. except with no turn. its too bad she didnt flip....that woulda been an awesome photo. Then one of us would of had to save her and the local news woulda came. We could of exposed TST to the public...damn.

Ok, that's cruel. I know you mean no harm to her, but a flip? DARN!

Anyway, I saw an idiot who decided to "cross-drill" (More like poke holes) his factory rotors on a Civic. It snaped about 1/4 of the rotor, off and then the remaining part of the rotor sheared the caliper right off the assembly.

What a Dutch-Bag!

:screwy:

I am also one of the proud few to have seen this rare event. BTW: pete has lost all photography & videography rights and duties on TST due to his complete stupidity in this situation.

PS: NINJA OFFICER!!!!!!

we should have had pics of both!!!!!!!!

damn u pete, damn you to hell!!!!!!!!!!

wrx_snobordr 01-29-2005 02:59 AM

:iagree: pete is no longer allowed to hold a video camera, dig camera, cell phone camera, or even a disposable. However, i cant be to harsh on him. His comment to me while ripping teh shovel out of my hand was great. :wiggle:

teh DIRT 01-29-2005 02:27 PM

Nearly half of a rear rotor snapped off (while driving) on my e36 328i. It was wintertime, and i barely kissed a curb with the rear wheel sliding on ice at low speeds. Apparently it was enough to stress the rotor, which literally just broke off a coupe weeks later. I have to find pics. I still have the piece of rotor.
