problem...
My girlfriends father got a head unit from a friend of his, its an alpine 7807, i was testing it to see if it worked and what not because i wanted to sell it. Anyway, i hooked it up and started messing with it, checking everything out, tested it with woofers, cd's, the radio, all the buttons, everything, as i took it out to put my other head unit in, my gauges went. None of them light up anymore, i checked the fuse and everything, they are all good. I checked the dimmer switch for them, thats fine. I cant figure it out. Any suggestions?

Aftermarket gauges?? If so check to see if the power source is tapped into your radio harness.

nope they are stock guages, i cant find the problem, thats what i thought it had to do with. Could it be the positive and negative dimmer shorting on the wire harness?
