help! my car wont start

I dont know what happened, I went out and it started but then quickly died, now when I turn the key it makes the sound but it wont start. my lights and all work so I dont think its my battery, what should I do ?

markley02 11-21-2006 03:11 PM

What kind of sound?

Renegade_ 11-21-2006 03:13 PM

i guess he means the fuel pump engaging, the click you get right as you turn the power on for the car

drew 11-21-2006 03:14 PM

the regular sound you hear when you put the key in the start position, before the car actually starts

as long as i hold the key in the start position it keeps making the noise but it doesn't start

Got fuel? Spark? You'll need to check these things #1

How many miles are on the car? Mods?

TTsupra911 11-21-2006 03:56 PM

x2 mods, have you put in the Fidanza Flywheel lately? I can't listen to the video at work. What does it sound like.

drew 11-21-2006 05:19 PM

59k miles
mods SRI, exhaust, volt stab, grounding, sts, HID's on a relay

I got it started, gave it gas and kept trying to crank it for a couple seconds ( like 5 ) then it started with a big poof of smoke from the exhaust

I don't think so, I would check for spark by pulling each plug and grounding it to metal while cranking the car over, check fuel pressure.

Are there any codes stored?

drew 11-21-2006 11:09 PM

no CEL, i have 59721 on the clock, 60k warrenty, bringing it in monday haha

gary 11-22-2006 12:50 AM

uhh yea have fun with your warranty with your mods. Bring your wallet. good luck.

drew 11-22-2006 01:05 AM

they can't void the warrenty because of mods unless they directly contributed to whatever broke

markley02 11-22-2006 01:09 AM

Vac leak maybe? Make sure your MAF connections are good

silver05bullet 11-22-2006 02:09 AM

really weird but it could be a catalytic converter as well

drew 11-22-2006 02:13 AM

hope so, cause my cats will be gone this week :]

They can still give you a hard time about it and try to void it.
