Have you ever thought about running a rally, but said “They’re too hard, I’ll just get lost.” Well then Witch Way to Salem? may be the event for you. You will be provided a mileage to every turn. Or, did you say “I don’t like doing a lot of calculations.” Again, Witch Way to Salem? may be the event for you. We’ll give you the perfect time to each checkpoint, all you have to do is be there at that time. Witch Way to Salem? is a Monte Carlo style rally whose competitive portion is approximately 100 miles long. Only paved roads will be used. “Sounds too simple, what’s the catch?” you say. Not really a catch, but you can’t stop in sight of a checkpoint.
I have never run a Monte Carlo style rally, so I should be as lost as you are

So, is this an illegal race down public roads??

If so, I may have to join in if my car is finished by then.

It's an SCCA event, totally legal.

Another one I miss due to prior commitments, bummer. I'm going to keep the August dates open though, I REALLY want to get to one of these.

So, how are they going about getting all that road closed off??

Well, they don't ask to close the roads, just require the competitors to stay under the speed limits. The contest is precision not speed. There are penalties for arriving early as well as late.

The start and Finish is at JG Cooks in Pitman. Then most of the rally is in Salem Co. I do not know the exact route, just the general area.
