Admins locking threads
 

Guys, I understand that not everyone shares your viewpoint on the world, and I love reading the witty and sarcastic remarks as to why you are locking threads, but I would hope that this isn't becoming a "think and talk like me or else get out" type of place.

Sure, people are going to e-fight and talk trash, but i'll be honest and tell you that sometimes that is why people can't help but continue to patron your site. Its fun to get home and see what the latest drama is, but every time I get home there are 7 or 8 more threads that have been locked because they didn't fit into somone's larger viewpoint.

1) "Spotted thread is no longer for anything but genuine spots of potential members or cars you actually like, not negative posts or rants". --So there are no more negative posts allowed?

2) "you have a problem then contact me about it. i WORK hard to keep this site organized and clean, please dont forget that." -- So what is organized and what is clean?

3) "so you're gonna come on here and ask how you can put an unnecessary oversized 2F2F tach on your stock car and then when people are nice enough to hold in their real opinions and even try to help you you insult them?
maybe you should try a different forum... doesnt look like you need our help" --So now we kick out stupid people too? We can all see this guys knows nothing about cars, so why give him the time of day?

4) "mmm yeah well this thread isnt going to get any better, so taking that in to consideration and also that i'd much rather promote legal racing, just gonna lock this one now" --Huh? So we cant talk about racing anymore unless its 100% legal? I haven't been 100% legal at any track event i've ever gone to.


I don't mean to be a dick, but I think if this goes on much longer you'll get a lot more of this "I give it 2 mins and Troll puts us on lock down with a warning." and a lot less people on your forum. Maybe you like it that way, and maybe this is just a club for a few select people that all share one perspective on life, but that would be extremely boring.

i agree,.. ive posted about it in the past and just got e-tough-guy'd in pm's,.. no good answers really. like that spotted thread you(mike) started about the celica and the srt, that got locked for being 'off topic' because the performance of the celica and srt were discussed :lol:

This has been discussed multiple times with the same outcome.

I hope they lock even more threads. There was a time when this site was cool and everyone was friends. Now it's tough guys and people making fun of cars they dont' even know. Pretty gay if you ask me.

I believe all the locked threads are good. Seems like the site was getting out of hand with bs. As will this thread I'm sure...


He runs the site he's gonna do as he sees fit. What is he supposed to do make a poll and ask everyones opinion on closing the thread? Keep on locking the threads it will weed out the bs IMO.

I don't think it ballsy. I know the people that run the forum, and I like most of them. I wasn't out of line, and I think it's a vaild question. If they tell me it's thier way or the highway then so be it. After all it's thier sandbox and i'm just a guest, but that doesn't mean I can't challenge things.

this is retarded... first off this is in the wrong forum... secondly... pay attention... if a thread is in the spotted forum... its about spotting a car.. not someones asshole opinions on what car is better etc etc ... i mean **** i think more threads should be closed... like this one.

Why is it retarded? Am I not as much entitled to an opinion as you are? As for paying attention, I think you are being a bit contradictory in your message.

Look back about a year and a half ago and longer. The spotted section was all about spotting members and nice cars. There were the few that said "oh I saw this ricey (insert car)" and usually those threads were ignored. Now they are the majority and everyone thinks it's oh so cool to make fun of other cars. Cool, you can make fun of a car. Congrats!

What is the issue with "all the BS" you guys keep talking about? Please explain how it is hurting you in any way? The only problem that I see is that people play into it.

If you want this to be a private forum that make it members only and require people to be approved before they enter, but if we are given the ability to post, then at least let us make a case and speak our mind. I know people think that is "gay", but it's fun trying to talk things out and sway people one way or the other.

its retarded because if you have a problem with admins.. talk to the admins... don't make some post about how you think things should be in the wrong forum no less... i payed attention... its not a matter of this being an opinion .. becuase you are entitled to it... its how you are handling the matter... like i said... PM the admins... ive had threads reopened because of conflicts... i pm'd the admin and talked it out... posts get cleaned up etc and the thread gets reopened... its really not a hard thing to understand.

Agreed. I have never gone out of my way to make an unprovoked attack on ANY persons car. If a yellow and pink civic pulled up to a TST meet, I would be the first one to defend the guy as long as he had a true, albiet misguided, passion for cars and didn't act like a jerk.

I hate people that make fun of others to make themselves feel better about thier situation, but show your displeasure instead of locking threads. If you lock the thread then 20 more pop up. If we all let them know that they are being stupid for posting it, then it will happen a lot less.
