comcast on demand cable
 
i just upgraded saturday, and my on demand is not working. i called comcast and they said most likely it is the box and instead of waiting around for someone to show up from 9 to 5, i went and traded my box in today. well i turn on the on demand channel and it still says, "please wait". does any one know what to do or how to fix it?

the way its hooked up is i took the old cable line going to the tv, i put it right into the box. and right back to the tv. the rca/dvd player isnt linked into it, i read online that could mess it up.

did you call them and activate the box...you have to do that b4 itll work

i picked it up from the comcast place in my town. everything works besides the on demand feature.

it happened to me, i have 2 boxes and 1 in my room. i traded the box 3 times and called its not working. i dont even care anymore. i had some1 come out to fix it but they said they would call but they didnt so i wasnt home when they showed up.

im from browns mills. 08015. i called back and talked to someone. they ran me through the "unplug" routine. that went no wheres. they then beamed their magical signal that didnt help either. so they are planning on sending someone out here on friday.

Let me tell you right now....its NOT your box. Comcast is a ****ing joke. You don't believe what I'm about to tell you, you can come over since you live so close, and listen to me call them on the phone again.

Since JULY my digital service has been shoty at best. IT keeps microblocking, pixelating, cutting in and out, freezing, on demand stops working along with encore.

THEY HAVE PAID MY BILL FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS!!! I call up and complain just about every other day. I've had 9 tech out to my home, 4 line techs out to the poles, and 4 new boxes. They still haven't figured it out. They keep crediting me and crediting me.
They are a bunch of incompetent assholes.
Ok rant done.

damn 05gt that sucks. thanks for offering to come see your tv, but if its worst than mine i think ill pass hahah. i had 1 channel cut in and out on me once, so i changed channels lol. my friend lives 2 houses down and theirs works fine so i still have some hope. i also have a friend that lives like half a mile away and his works fine as well. im just hoping its the old cable line going into the house. my computer cable line was replaced a year or two ago because that went nuts on me.

so far 5 calls, 2 boxes and 1 tech (friday) and it hasnt even been 1 week.

05GT... how old is ur house/the wiring in your house? now i am not defending comcast... cause i hate working here... BUT i worked in the converter room for long enough to know that 9 times outta 10 the problem is not your box. yes there are ****ty boxes out there... yes we do have issues... but you have to be realistic. no company in ANY service industry is perfect... cell phones, satellite, TV, internet.. whatever it is... none are perfect...

no they arent but comcast is ****. they literally just throw the broken coverter boxes right back into the rotation.

do you work for comcast? ... no? then dont make claims about what they do... i take pride in my job as much as i hate it and when people start claiming things like that.... that we arent doing our jobs properly... it pisses me off... nowi dont know where you are from... so i cant say it directly affects me but dont go tossing around claims like that when you have no clue what is actually going on.

comcast sucks ass, i too experience 05gt problems with on demand and everytime i call them all they say is unplug your box and plug it back in, aside from the 190.00 dollar a month between my cable and internet. (BS) the digital cable isnt as clear as it should and how the hell can it be called digital if its the same freaking analog wire connected to it. 2 days ago we decided to drop comcat, and join the telephonies!!!!!!! since FIOS is coming to my area very soon. what this means is faster internet than cable at only 34 bucks a month, crystal clear tv trough a fiber optic line way less than cable !!!

oh yeah i almost forgot i got sick of talking to customer service while they are stuffing the mouth with food and chewing on the phone

yea actually my best friend is an installer for comcast and put a white X on every box that was broken that the warehouse gave him and he had to return because it wouldnt work. within two weeks he started getting the X marked boxes again for install jobs after he told them the box was broken.

im not attacking you or the job you do but comcast is ****. if you have a problem with my opinion on comcast then fix my ****ed up monthly bill and the **** poor quality of thier products. every month i am charges an installation charge, a random extra line charge and $40 more in charges then im supposed to recieve. i get a $170 bill every month for basic cable and internet. and every ****ing month i call them about it and they dont know whats going on and i have to wait 2 hours on hold for a peice of **** manager to try and haggle with me about how i have to pay for installation every ****ing month when i only had 1 thing installed the first month, not 5 months later. **** COMCAST.
