I dont get it: how do all these news organizations get private e-mails people send? I could understand the government doing something like that, but isn't it illegal if non-gov does it?

Someone probably forwarded it out to the media outlets, or they saved the messages to a disc and sent them out. There are many ways for people to get "private" e-mails, other then just breaking into a computer. In fact social engineering is the easiest form of cracking, since people are often the weakest link in a computer system.

Somehow I doubt it though. The campaign to have us taken off the air — sparked curiously, by the BBC’s own news website — will now be ramped up, fuelled by the environmentalists and spearheaded by muddle-headed road safety campaigners.
Richard is winning his fight. And now mine begins. To make sure that he has a show to come back to.”

I would hope the show would not be cancelled because of this. The last thing we need is the cancellation of a show spanning nearly 30 years (I didn’t know it was that old.)

Thought that quote was pretty funny. Inferring the care Richard Hammond is receiving at Leeds General is pretty darn good. I hope Hammond makes a full recovery.
