Return of an Old Legend, the 93 SW2

Wow what an incedible day. The course was absolutely incrediblely fast, and very fun.

Yesterday marked the return of the Saturn at the Central PA Region autox, and what a blast I had in that car once again. The comments from people were just price less. Words of Sam Strano (National Champ) I believe on the loud speaker. "Holy crap, that's an STS car, a Saturn Wagon." "That is absolutely rediculous, that car should not be that fast."

Took the STS victory over some RSX's and one white 89 Civic Si Hatch. It was such a fun day. What surprised me was where I ended up in PAX. 3rd place for the old boat. Crazy stuff.

LoL That's awesome dude. There are always cars that are good at X-ing (especially combined with a good driver) that you would never suggest.

Looks pretty nice with those wheels on it too.

What were your times and what event was that??

My fastest time was a 52.2xx. It was at the Central PA Regions fall series at the Mid-State Airport near Philipsburg, PA. It's out near state college. It's such a fun venue to run at.

BTW - First set I went into was a really fast slalom. Man I was not ready for the difference going back to this from just running the 91 Civic Hatch last weekend. What a different ball game once again.

It's just something to get used to. Remember this is the car that I won my local regions STS championship in, and won driver of the year so it's no slouch. The hard part is going from a super stiff, on the edge car to just man handling this beast. It really is probly only about .5 seconds slower then the Civic was.

The only thing really different from when I raced this car last year, was I ran a 215/40x17 tire instead of the 205/50x15 I ran yesterday. Didn't seem to make all that much of a difference. I thought the feel of the 17" was a lot better though. But I have cheap Falken FK-451's on those wheels now so I had to run my race set from the Civic.
