I just wanted to let you know that I hated you because we both bought our tranny's from the same place and you got a tranny from a car which was totalled within 80 miles. Die!!!

teh DIRT 09-10-2006 10:04 AM

bryans tranny ftw.

D Money 09-10-2006 10:06 AM

Bryan's axles ftl. lol

poolmike 09-10-2006 10:35 AM

I'm going to try to stop by for the install. I have to help Bonehead move into his house first.

dancemf666 09-10-2006 10:54 AM

sesolcSTI 09-10-2006 11:11 AM

NitroDon from Nasioc. He buys/sells crashed sti's and he has the best deals around since he gave Bryan and I both more than we needed. He even went as far as including the center console with the sti shifter trim and dccd buttons, axles, factory dccd controller, driveshaft, linkage, shifter, shift boot, shift knob etc. The best part is you sit at your house and he comes in his truck and hand delivers it to you, real sick right?

BTW, do you want these best buy cards???

I need to get me one of these six speeds. What was your approximate final costs?

D Money 09-10-2006 01:53 PM

well his was different than mine and I will let him explain to you on how he basically got a 6mt for $1,000 after he is done lol.

Final total costs for me including 3.90 R & P w/ installation of everything was $4,000. After I sold all my old parts it ended up being close to $1,000 off. I also had a broken tranny where is BT has a fully working 5mt.

MuddyREX 09-10-2006 03:01 PM

NitroDon ftw. Got my STi suspension from him.

WhiteXFire 09-10-2006 03:22 PM

just updating... i'm sitting at work, and some really kickass guys are finishing up the car cause we didnt get it done in time before i HAD to come in to work. lets just say i'm a little upset about it, but nothing i can really do.
things went relatively smoothly, we just spent a lot of time trying to work the tranny off of the engine... knew it would be a bit of a struggle but it took longer than anyone expected. We finally got it off and were working on getting the 6 speed on teh car when I really had to get going. Everyone volunteered to stay and see the job through so although it sucks I had to leave thats awesome of everyone.
BIG thanks to Greg (04 Turbo Spec) for the use of his garage and lift, and for sticking around all day and helping out... and thanks to his little brother too... not too many 16 year olds know their way around cars like he does (whats his name again?). And of course Mike (the mike)... you rock and I really appreciate you taking the time on your day off to help me through this one. Oh, and of course Mike (PoolMike) stopped by as well and helped us with the daunting task of separating the tranny and motor, that guy can't resist a good challenage on an install.
I talked to them a short while ago and they said they had the tranny on and were working on putting the starter and slave cylinder back on, then comes the driveshaft, exhaust, and intercooler piping. I tried to take photos throughout the day so I'll post them up tonight or tomorrow...
