Fuse+Sub problem
 

Out of no where, my system starts acting up. When my subs hit a certain note, my fuse blows. I have never had this problem before. Im running a 400 watt amp to a 12 bazooka that can handle 450 watts. I bridged the bazooka. If you know what the problem is, please help. any ideas on how to fix? thanks.

how loud were you playing it? also, make sure all the wiring is right and that when the keys are out that the amp shuts off, that can have an effect

well the first time it blew, my gain on the amp was all the way up, i forgot i had it up there, so i knew that blew the fuse. so i turned it down to maybe a third. all the wiring is right, and my power connections ran correctly, amp shuts off when the car is shut off, or when the switch (a 12 volt switch i set up in my dash). am i pushing to much to the subwoofer by bridging it?

My dumbass friend had the same problem. He ran his 12v under his seat and had crush it with his seat track, anytime the exposed metal wire would touch seat rail he would blow a fuse.

Isnt the amp on signal supposed to be 6v? I could be wrong, been a while since I put my system in. Either way doesnt matter, I just hooked the blue wire up from the headunit to the amp on wire inlet.

pretty sure its 12v charge to turn it on.

Anyhow make sure you have a REALLY good ground

yea its 12V not 6V.

Im thinking it has to be the ground. this is in my trunk, (i would never put an amp under the seat unless i had very easy access to it) i built a box and the amp is mounted on the front of the box. I may just move the ground and stuff. Im getting sick of trying to fix this ****.

yeah dude i had a ranger and explorer...both with pain in the ass grounds...the ranger took me 3 days to figure out the problem.... I didnt get a good ENOUGH ground even after i removed like a 1/8th of a inch of metal...

That setup was a Sony Xplod 2 12" subs...with a 1600 Watt sony amp.

And the explorer was just a ****ing pain in the ass...wrong wiring harness ordered 3 times...ground was in the rear wheel well....all the wires from the head unit got cut into the carpet....pain in the ass...took a full day

setup- Rockford fosgate HX2 15" sub....jl 1000/1 amp

yea that has to be it. I made sure that i got all the paint off of the area and i drilled into it, used a washer and bolt and i attatched the ground wire to a...i forget what its called, but has an O at the end for the bolt to go through. It was sturdy and everything but im sure thats whats giving me the problems.

i got it to work for the day yesterday until i went over a speed bump. Blew the fuse again.

Yeah definitely sounds like the problem dude....i went straight wire that i kinda split in half....much better no resistance...sucks your not closer to levittown i would check it out
