Making a formal introduction...

Hey All,

Names Arkady or Ark. I'm 20 and live in Elkins Park basically in northeast Philly.

I've been attending the meets for some time now, even back when they were still at Absolute Steaks.

Only good pic I have of myself.

Now as far as cars go I have two.
Daily Driver: 05 Impreza 2.5 RS. Basically stock since its too slow to mod.
Tein H-Techs, Kartboy Short Throw, EBC RedStuff and Ebc TurboGroove Rotors, Obx Headers

The project car/lemon/money pit.

88 Mazda RX7 Convertible

I always wanted a rex vert and decide to buy one instead of throwing money at the scooby. Bought it in Maryland for 750 , spent another 250 towing it back.

Now the only thing I've really done on cars was oil changes so everything done to the 7 was a learning expereince and a half.

Swapped in full turboII drivetrain, usdm 13bt, Racing Beat 3in turbo back, cone filter, Rtek 1.7, 550cc primaries, 720cc secondaries, ACT 6puck Unsprung/HD pressure plate, Ebc GreenStuff, Brembo Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Goodridge SS lines, Racing Beat Rear Sway, Suspension Technique Bushings, Apexi Safc Neo, PLX R300 Wideband, Autometer Cobalts, Greddy Turbo Timer.

As of now I have 8 months and about 8 grand in it not including all the little parts and it still needs about that much to be done the way I want it.

Some pics of the build up:

The car actually had 330,000 miles on it , chassis and engine. And for the money it seemed like a good project car. Until I pulled the ecu and found a good amount of rust. So then I decided to strip everything. Cut and weld, por 15 , herculine the underneath.

Yanked the engine and trans out and also showed my mad tight jdm skillz yo!

Por15'd underneath the rear

Finally out of the garage after sitting for like 7 months

I just bought another vert for like 200 bucks, gonna pull the interior out of that one, s5 tails and molding. Corbeau seats , Takata harnesses, roll cage. And over the winter repaint it black and throw on the GP Sports kit and either 18x9, 18x10-11 SSR Sp1's or Work S1's.

So basically its gonna look like this whens its done , just black.

I'm taking it to its first tri-state meet tonight, see y'all there.

Just make sure to do the wheels better. Those look horrible.

I'm the dude , thanks for all the nice comments. And as far as wheel choice , yeah I'm not really a fan of TE37s on rexs. As of now I am considering either the mentioned Works , or the SSR's but getting them might be a hassle in the size that I want.

dougiefresheq 08-25-2006 01:01 AM

welcome

Wiisass 08-25-2006 01:03 AM

I didn't mean the wheel selection, i meant the sizing. TE37s are awesome, i would put them on every car my family owned if I had the money. It's just the fitment in terms of width and offset on that car is horrible.

04BlueSRT4 08-26-2006 08:13 AM

welcome to TST...nice car

The skirts in that pic are a bit much. I do like the front bumper though, reminds me of the Origin stuff for the 240's.

I say mesh wheels. I absolutely love the way Jerry's(95nracer on here) car looks with the Advan Siena's on it. But it's your car, do as you wish. :)

Looks like you had some serious down time.

Yeah its actually the origin kit I think , all the fc kits look the same.

Yeah I like meshies too , another wheel choice being the new PIAA meshies.
