Can anyone spare some good luck?

Because the s*** keeps on coming.

Being excited that I would be getting my license back on Tuesday I decided to do some maintenance work that was going to be due in a couple thousand miles. I needed to change the oil tranny and rear diff fluid. My Redline HD showed up on Saturday so Sunday afternoon I decided to get started, I changed the oil and then went to jack up the back too so the car was level to change the tranny fluid so I take the pump jack and jack up the back. I threw one of the stands under the car but didn't line it up as I get under the car to put the other one under and line it up the pump jack gives out and the car drops. It happened so quickly I don’t know what happened but the stand that was in my hand ended up under the rear tire keeping the car from landing on me but the other stand that I had not lined up yet went right through my gas tank. I was able to get the jack working again long enough to get the stands out from under the rear of the car but as you could imagine I wasn’t trusting it enough to stick my head back under the car to check eh extent of the damage but from what I can see with the car on the ground it looks like the fuel tank was the only thing damaged. Well, it looks like I shouldn’t have gotten so excided about being able to drive my car tomorrow because it is going to be out of commission a little while longer :furious: but atleast the car didn't land on me because I think that would have hurt a little.

Dewd, just be glad you didnt get crushed. I dont think you need luck, because luck was on your side just then.

Eek.

Good thing the car didnt fall on you. Never ever rely on jacks or stands. After I jack my car up I always give it a good hard push as a test to make sure it wont fall on me. Safety first and all that.

were you able to pull the tank down, or is it just leaking still from your tank?

be careful, gas will take off the undercoating on your car very quickly, so try not to let it splash it around. If the undercoating comes off and goes on your driveway, its impossible to get off

The first stand should go on the most secure spot available and should be lined up/adjusted prior to moving on to the next or ever getting under the car, then follow up with additional ones. Luck wasn't necessary, just common sense. I have seen/heard a lot of people doing dumb stuff like this and getting seriously hurt because of it. An ounce of prevention...

Gotta be careful :)

all but a little less than about 1/16 of it just poured right out. I left the rest in because I am going to take it into my dads friends shop to have the tank replaced but I will still need to move the car because the flat bed wont be able to get to the car where it sits. I really hate taking my car in to have work done but I wont have time to do it myself this week and now I don't have a relyable jack.
