Who in here get pull over for Loud exhaust?

Just wondering how many of you guys get pull over? It seem they never pull over Harley davison guy...and other biker? Also, what citation can they give it for? I know there a section to ask the law about ...but, i wanna hear what your guys opinion also.

I haven't had a problem

I've never had a problem. I have a hollowed out cat and a 2.5" cat-back, louder then some of my friends v8s. Not sure on what they can pop you for it though.

I got pulled over in my old Wrx at like 1:00am by Winslow Twp Police, and i was trying to keep as quiet as possible. They thought i had NOS from the BOV, they didnt care, he was talking to me about my car for 10 mins then let me go.

Vypurr2 06-29-2006 11:56 PM

I can't wait to get it, then just smile and say "Its stock!"

MaxRPM 06-29-2006 11:59 PM

I'm trying to get a quieter exhuast, i'm waiting to scrap up the money, in the meantime...it freaking crazy loud...I'm scared to drive my car...

HOpefully, there no bogus law the cop can dash out...on me.

koho2731 06-30-2006 12:27 AM

No problems hear and I've driven around open DP quiet a few times, but my buddy got pulled in his Spec V and got a noise ordinance violation ticket.

I have a 3" cutout...lol

MaxRPM 06-30-2006 01:01 AM

Spendone, what exactly is the violation? and how much was the fine?

Also,

koho2731, what township is that? Did the cops use a decible reading? How can he prove the noise level is too loud?

SpendOne 06-30-2006 01:15 AM

the one that I had gotten even though it was pulled was for "aftermarket exhaust and no muffler"

MaxRPM 06-30-2006 06:05 AM

WTF? a cop can give a ticket for aftermarket exhaust? I never heard that was a citation.

poolmike 06-30-2006 06:18 AM

A couple of years ago, I left a car show in my Jeep in Kitnersville, PA. I drove home on River Road and got stopped at a 'muffler checkpoint' just before New Hope. There were maybe 5 State cops and 3 locals that had around 30-40 Harley's and a few musclecars/street rods stopped. As I approached the scene, a cop flagged me and signalled to pull over. I opted to drop down a gear, stand on the gas, and evade. They didn't come after me:devil:

JoeScooby 06-30-2006 07:12 AM

In the three years of having my car I got pulled over once with my Nur Spec, I popped the silencer in and took off.

MaxRPM 06-30-2006 08:49 AM

no one really explain the citation they got??? What is the REASON...??? NO CAT??? NOISE level??? Or just because it look modified?? Can a cop give ticket just for the modified LOOKS???

SpendOne 06-30-2006 10:27 AM

I got pulled over b/c "it looked modified". Then he proceeded to tell me it was too loud. Obiviously I didnt argue with him. I told him Id have it fixed asap but he didnt want to hear it. So I just called a friend and had it pulled. It literally said on the comments "aftermarket exhaust with no muffler". I forgot what I was actually cited though. I do remember it being somewhere around $150.00 for a fine.

It was in Dover DE they don't have a decible level, but they go by how many feet a way from the car they can hear your exhaust and/or stereo system which is 50'

JoeScooby 06-30-2006 10:58 AM

Im sorry, it was for the noise level. The dewd also said he saw smoke comming out of my exhaust, this we prior to me pulling off all my cats. ALTHOUGH it was the middle of Feb and I just started the car, just looking for reasons to brake my bawls.
