Your score was: 85%

95% I said I would listen to a stop light over a cop.

MuddyREX 06-08-2006 08:21 AM

100%!!

poolmike 06-08-2006 08:24 AM

I did not know that there is a specific direction to look in when someone drives toward me with highbeams on..... I usually just turn mine on and steer towrd them, but that wasn't a choice:mrgreen:

I scored a 95%. I missed the one about when the road is most slippery.

xEJ20x 06-08-2006 10:40 AM

80%

Stop lights are more important than cops.

I have an issue with #1, #7 and #13.

#1: There IS no place off the pavement around here. You just pull over where people can see you.

#7: Around here we have single traffic lights in the middle of 3 mile stretches. Do you mean to tell me that I'm supposed to wait for the guy coming from a mile away? It's "Left turn YIELD". That's 1/2 the problem with drivers around here... They sit there with their thumb up their asses wondering if they should go or not. DURRRRRRRR!

#13: Tell me how I'm supposed to identify an unmarked crosswalk? And you mean to tell me that a pedestrian is to stop 10 cars moving at 45mph down mainstreet because he wants to cross? NO! he can ****ing wait until there is an opening or walk to a traffic light. It's not like we have bumper to bumper traffic out here in Hickville Pennsyltucky.

The problem with drivers is that they either don't listen to laws, or interprit them incorrectly. There has to be a better way to test a person's compitence than the current drivers test. Certified mental retards could (and do) pass that thing! Automobiles are heavy machinery and can end lives if a mistake is made. Would you let a blonde in a tube top & mini skirt operate a fork lift in a childcare center?... THEN WHY A NISSAN ARMADA ON PUBLIC ROADS!?

/Rant off

I couldn't agree more. I know we are talking about the written test but my younger brother brother passed the driving test without leaving the DMV parking lot :bigeek: Am I the only person who sees a problem with this?

7. The key is that there is no magic number. You turn when it is safe to do so. Hint, screeching tires in front of a line of cars coming at you is not safe.

13. Pedestrians have the right of way. Period. Hit one and tell the police "he wasn't in a crosswalk" when they arrive and see how that works out. There are extenuating cirumstances, such as some idiot wearing a black outfit crossing a rural road in the middle of the night. But if you can't prove negligence on the part of the pedestrian, you're screwed. NOTE: This rule apparently does NOT apply to yellow cabs within the city limits of NYC.

Then the question on that test is wrong. It says the correct answer is to wait for ALL the cars. No, the correct answer is to wait for the "dangerously close ones" (translated: if you turn in front of them, you may cause an accident)... then you turn.

Around here, if a pedestrian walked out into moving traffic thinking that the traffic would stop for them, they would either get hit or cause a multi-car pile up. Cross anywhere but a marked crosswalk or light (and even then) you had better be looking.

Sometimes all directions are red while a cop directs traffic in the intersection. Are you going to stop while the cop is waving yout through the intersection? No, you just drive through and keep the flow going.

05Accent 06-08-2006 02:07 PM

yea well u get some people that are dumb. and just cross where ever..

OptiCon 06-08-2006 02:12 PM

^ That was how I translated "unmarked crosswalk". I'm not responsible to yield to dorks wanting to cross the road in any random spot. It has to be a marked spot or a light... Then I'll yield.

05Accent 06-08-2006 02:13 PM

excatly!!:iagree:

But that was the answer on the test. You just have to translate their retarded "wait for ALL cars" to the common sense "all cars that pose a danger to me".

I'm not saying it's right, or even a good idea. I'm just saying, the law is written in favor of the pedestrian.
