S4toSTI 05-18-2006 02:00 PM

Yeah thats not too good. Hope they get it fixed up i will make sure to mention this to ray tonight at the meet.

Scapegoat 05-18-2006 02:05 PM

ut oh. I was there once before, it seems like a shady back alley place, but come on, real estate is expensive. They're paying at least 3/4 in rent than someone on a main street.

Gorilla Unit 33 05-18-2006 02:50 PM

wow....

lagos 05-18-2006 02:57 PM

sounds like the owner of the car dosnt know much about cars.

D Money 05-18-2006 02:57 PM

It is yellow with a carbon lip.

I replied over there, but so that you guys know, we did some work to the car before we started, took about 5 passes to try and get the thing to run through the band (fuel pressure and tune were so far out of whack it was like starting from scratch) and when it did it immediatley bounced off the limiter because the clutch was slipping. We charged the guy $70 for the work that we did and told him to come back when the clutch had a few more miles on it. I've had the same issue with my car and the spec clutch, so I know what it feels like to have the clutch slip. And i noted that that also drove fine on the street, but as soon as I put some slicks on it and tried to pull it, the clutch slipped again. We could have road tuned it, but I don't do that for customers because of the liabilities, and it looks like I made a good decision. If this has become such an issue already even when the car only left a little better then it came it, then i'm sure this would have been a hassle in the future.

Thats the story. I don't think that we screwed anyone, and if the car is at Xotic let me know how they make out. I'm curious to see if the clutch is still an issue.

My install rate is $375 for a clutch on the SRT, and $425 for the WRX because I hate AWD (kidding, I have to take the driveshaft out so it's a little more time).

thanks dex, i really do appreciate that.

It sucks sometimes when I try to do the right thing and get bashed for no odd reason other then the customer didn't like what I told him.

I am not saying you do bad work so I am not sure if that was directed toward me. I only stated that I seen a yellow srt with a carbon lip at xotic which I assume is the same one. I completely disagree with how the kid went about bashing your shop along with the employees on the forum, that should never be done. The kid is retarted because it looks like he didn't say a word to you guys but saved it for the internet, where he could be tough in the security of his home.

I'll say it again, I don't ever get angry, so post anything you want. As a matter of fact, I like when people nit-pick on occasion cause it shows me what I may need to improve.

However, I just found out that I charged the guy 70 and he gave ray 100 and told him to put it towards the next dyno session. So I can't believe that he is this upset, but I will say that his friend is the one making the post, not the car owner.

And yea, the "check it out" part was directed towards you. I'm curious to see how exotic is making out with the car only because I want to see the guy get his stuff fixed.

Ok, but I didn't say anything to get you angry. I simply asked if this was the car at xotic seeing as it said it in the post his friend made.

Hahaha, you'll know when i'm angry, because as Barry knows, I always like to talk to people in person if things escalate. Not out of violence, but more out of respect.

what about that DSM with the PsiFI hardpipe?

The shop location is perfect for what it is. You guys aren't getting your business from walk-ins, but from word of mouth, and forum advertising. So it is perfect where it is for what it is.

Could you do me a favor and check out my thread below this one? "Dyno Tune" and let me know, thanks
