Evo takes out 2 cars at pocono raceway this weekend

From what I read on the forums, evo was trying to show off for the video, lost it, over corrected and ended up taking out a g35 and nsx on the last lap as the second group of cars were staging.

I hope that guy has deep pockets and a good conscience. Legally he is not obligated to pay a penny. And all insurance is void on a race track.

US_R33 05-08-2006 05:00 PM

actually.....if its an HPDE events technically its considered a driver's education event.....which falls under coverage by insurance companies.......i imagine they would promptly drop you afterwards but HPDE accidents are covered

OutOfStock 05-08-2006 05:02 PM

Ouch that sucks, I hope they had some other way to get home...

TurboTagTeam 05-08-2006 05:02 PM

That is true. If it was a HPDE event.

Little G 05-08-2006 05:03 PM

omg that sucks.....

cburwell 05-08-2006 05:27 PM

I wonder if that was the same EVO that was driving like a 'tard on the South course on Friday.

james_ls 05-08-2006 06:25 PM

I wonder exactly what kind of an event it was and how much this dude is screwed...if at all??

Jlb725 05-08-2006 06:30 PM

It was a track day with PDA and by the looks of the video it was the white/green group(novice drivers).

Video by "Iflysolo", yet there was an instructor. I find that funny. That G35 had some nice wheels too.

TROLL 05-08-2006 06:40 PM

wow, dont know what to say... thats 3 cars all in really bad shape. i HOPE his insurance covers that...
makes me only want to ever do HPDEs or other events that do have a chance to be covered by insurance.

gregfeder 05-08-2006 07:11 PM

if he has geico... they dont cover HPDE's... i know progressive and liberty mutal do as long as it wasnt a timed event. Which by the looks of it, it was not timed at all.

TomsSVX 05-08-2006 07:11 PM

what a Jack hole, This is what happens when stupid people get fast cars and drive like dumbasses. I hope the other 2 cars get compensated cuz that is rediculous

Tom

Geico won't cover any situations were highest speed is desired.

ie.---Drag Racing, Road Course Events, AutoX.

I called and asked about this awhile ago. If your running your car on a track you shouldn't be relying on your insurance anyway.

I disagree... if you are running on a track, and you can only afford to use your daily driver, you damn well should have insurance that will cover you. As a driver/instructor in years of HPDE's, you don't expect things to happen, but when a deer jumps out on the main straight of Watkins Glen.... you're SOA

Mr Tomtastic 05-08-2006 09:23 PM

Some guy posted about this on Nasioc. I paged through it, something about insurance fraud and stuff.
