Truckin' Along

After feeling like I was basically lost and just about over half assedly modifying cars, something caught my eye on a Sunday drive not but a mile from my house.

its a 1962 Chevy C10. Spent its entire life as a farm truck and has been sitting for quite sometime. I stopped in and chatted with the owner and we struck a deal. I help remove the tired old 6 cylinder and the truck was mine.

It may look rough and it sure is. However, I've seen worse things come back to life and I'm pretty jazzed about this. On top of that, however, I picked up a 2nd truck.

It's a 2013 GMC Sierra WT. V6 2wd. This will serve as the perfect parts getter and cruiser. Mods are cheap and easy which is a big plus for me. Only issue is it doesn't have reverse but I wasn't going to say no to this deal. So, here I go again. This time though I'm super excited to trek down this path.

Already have 2" drop shackles, drop spindles and new headlights in my possession for the GMC. Going to finish piecing together the drop kit and figure out what the issue is with the trans. Interior needs to be professionally cleaned though lol

I am in for dropping the C10 body onto the GMC content! No, that wasn't your plan.

But it should be.

sleeperSL2 12-04-2019 06:18 PM

I’ll be honest, I don’t have a solid plan for the ‘62. So anything is on the table lol

This^^^^

My only stipulation with the C10 is to keep the original panels. I have no self control so a while back I just grabbed these steel wheels for it. 15x7 / 15x8. Because free.

Boy am I excited to see this one. We need more pics of the c10!

Diablo2424 12-05-2019 10:40 AM

Nice! I'm excited to see the C10 come back to life, and even the GMC get dropped!

mckpat03 12-05-2019 10:56 AM

Daaang, this is ****ing exciting, for sure!

Need to find someone who can come out and clean the interior of the GMC. Being a drywall truck the interior is a hot mess. I'd take it somewhere but not having reverse is a slight issue..

Took off the 22x10s that were on the truck (which im selling for super cheap lol) and slapped on some chevy 18s. I have my eyes on some wheels for this already but that will come down the road.

Glad to see you back on here Kyle!

sleeperSL2 12-05-2019 12:37 PM

Hi Jim!

Foolinaround 12-05-2019 01:12 PM

Welcome back Kyle.

Oakes would probably be able to fix that interior up no problem if you got that kind of scratch.

sleeperSL2 12-05-2019 01:21 PM

Thanks !

Yeah I would love to take it to Nick, but rolling this POS work truck down there I don't think would be worth his time lmao

Big_Jim 12-05-2019 02:11 PM

How did you clean the steering wheel on your subaru? I think I need to do that in my navigator. Every once in a while I get black marks on my khakis from it.

sleeperSL2 12-05-2019 02:14 PM

I used GUNK all purpose cleaner and degreaser.

Foolinaround 12-05-2019 02:20 PM

Is it leather big jim? If so I use griots 3 in 1 with a pad and a microfiber. Worked great on my gti wheel

sleeperSL2 12-05-2019 03:18 PM

Just use a little bit. That's all I used. I cleaned my steering wheel, door panel, shifter, turn signal stalk lol All were so grimy.

GolNat 12-05-2019 09:53 PM
