caliper color opinions: what color should mine be?

im having my calipers powdercoated to give them a fresh look and im having a very difficult time deciding on what color to have them coated. I have narrowed down the choices to either mirror blue or sparkle silver. Its a tough call so I thought id put up a poll & see what everyone thinks & what their opinions are. The brakes are wilwood 4 piston for the front & 2 piston for the rear. the stock color they come in is black, but extreme heat has faded the annodizing which is why im having this done.

so what should i do?

btw: here is a pic of the car, wheels, & brakes as they currently are.

I have an 06' WR-blue wrx, and it comes with the red 4-pots....and I get so many compliments on how sweet the red looks with the blue

I say silver or black

WKderF 04-21-2006 06:37 PM

ive already thought about red & its simply not a color im interested in using.

What kind of rotars are you using, and you are still on stock brakes, right?

WKderF 04-21-2006 06:40 PM

please read the above post entirely & look at the picture. I am using Wilwood 4 piston brakes for the front, & Wilwood 2 piston brakes for the rear. The rotors i will be using when the calipers are finished will be powerslot rotors for the front & rear.

sorry, I scrolled too quickly...i feel like an idiot. I think blue annodizing would look pretty rediculously awesome.

Keep the stock color.

Sincere 04-21-2006 07:05 PM

S4toSTI 04-21-2006 09:09 PM

Dude the stock color is hot.

Silverfc88 04-21-2006 09:26 PM

:iagree: The stock black looks sick as is.

If you had to change mabe a silver/grey and the letters can be polished.

only problem here is that the wilwood logo is cut into the caliper, it is not raised. the logo is actually the last thing to be done at the factory, after they have been annodized. this means that no matter what i do, the wilwood logo and the caliper will be the same color. there is no way to have them be a different color. if i leave them the way they are, the fronts almost look purple, while the rears are still black.

Blue ftw, I like matching stuff up

good discussion, but for those curious wkderf got brand new black wilwood calipers to replace his discolored ones. of course he may be getting something a bit larger and a bit redder in the future :)

That say StopTech?

whats that post missing? oh yeah... tact, thats it... ;)

my opinion on calipers, now that i own red ones... brake dust is a bitch. it was never really an issue to clean my calipers before when i had grayish stock ones and then even grayish 4 pots, but gloss red is a whole different story and its pretty annoying.
red and gold look hot though, but i think my favorite are the silver (possibly bare machined) prodrive brakes... [billy madison]so hot, want to touch the backing plate[/billy madison]
