a few weeks ago i bent a stock wheel on a pothole while enjoying a nice ride down route 9.... so that "forced" me to purchase new wheels & tires. Enkei M52 18x8 wheels in hyper black with 245/40/18 Continental DWS tires.

This past weekend i went down to Tennessee with a group of friends to have some fun on the Tail of the Dragon.

These things are so ugly, but its on hell of a sleeper.

It's about damn time... Thats all I have to say about that.

some more info on the car...... on a "winter tune" (less aggressive than what's currently on there) the car put down 300whp/362wtq and a few weeks ago i ran the car at Cecil County Dragway on some really worn out Goodyear Eagle GT tires and the best i could get was a 14.1 @ 103mph w/ 2.295 60'. may have to see what it can do with the new wheels & tires since they're lighter and wider. really don't care about going fast in a straight line, if that was the case i wouldn't have this thing, but it'd definitely be nice to see it in the mid 13s.

I don't think I've ever seen an SS model. Big improvement looks-wise over the normal HHR. Looks like a fun time!

Lol at least you're cool about it on me saying that these are ugly lol. And those numbers aren't all that bad. Are you on a stock turbo or s/c? IDK what these come with.

His was the first one I've ever seen at a little meet a while back. Been some time since I've gone to one.

when it comes to the looks of these things, i don't think there's a middle ground, so i understand if you and others think they're ugly, haha!! it's nothing for me to get upset about it tho because in the end all that matters is if i think it looks good, right?

ok so stock these things come with a 2.0L turbo'd 4 cylinder, little k04 stock turbo at 15psi, rated at 260hp 260tq at the crank.... same engine/turbo setup as what's in the 2008-2010 Cobalt SS Turbo. i am still on that stock tiny turbo, just have some bolt-ons and a custom tune now.

lownslow95 11-01-2013 05:38 PM

Nice. As long as you like it, that's all that matters. I will say this. It's not something you see ever day, and I like when people mod cars you don't see to often.

just noticed i haven't updated this in a while, been a crazy winter. been dealing with an old back injury that flared up really bad back in early January, so i haven't been physically able to install the goodies i have listed above. i've been driving it over my 2011 Civic (my daily driver) as it's easier for me to get in & out of with the bad back. with that said, i'll be having surgery to get fixed in late February and from what the doctor is saying i'll be down & out for most of 2014 to recover. can't do any physical activities that could basically ruin what the surgery will be fixing, so it looks like i won't be doing any mods to the HHR until 2015...... actually considering putting it up for sale and start saving so that and once i'm good to go i can pick up a project in the winter.
