Street Outlaws - New Show June 10 @ 9pm
 

Saw this on another forum, that the Discovery channel is going to have a show on street racing. It's called Street Outlaws. Video taken from OKC, one of the best towns for some street racing.

Found more info and videos on it. Will probablly set the DVR to record an episode to see if it's any good or not. Have a feeling it's going to be bad though.

Well I watched it. Very redneck style. Not my cup of tea.

It looks fake to me, unless cops are super dumb in Oklahoma.

It was so staged. Just another reality show.

1320Video's "Cash Days" series of videos is based around that exact street racing scene. The videos online feature much faster cars, though, it seems. I think this show was a big letdown compared to what 1320's videos showcase.

From what I understand the cars and drivers are all real deal racers both on the track but mostly on the street and were given the opportunity to showcase their lifestyle. The cars range from 7 to 9 seconds. Discovery channel has to show the racing in a safe way so the races are staged as in closed off roads and runways but the street racers knew this and agreed to it so that they could have a safe and structured way to continue racing in the way they prefer.

I like the concept with the top 10 list and you can only call out the guy above you. If your not on the list you have to call out #10. Would love to see this done here. TST top 10, but on the track only. Callout happens in the forum. The guy doing the callout chooses the track venue and a date is agreed upon within one week of the callout. It would never happen though.
