Hammtheman's Rb25det Powered S13...moving forward

So i decided to pick up a new chassis and go big on a build. i found a 1989 240sx on craigslist with 126k on the clock. it has been sitting since 07 in a garage. car is super clean, rust free and straight only very slight damage to the hood, but i got a spare one in the deal. i have basically bought two full cars, the guy had a parts car he stripped and scrapped so i have a full spare interior and a full set of body panels. i also was given two full KA motors and two 5-speed transmissions. it was one hell of a deal.

i had the car loaded with parts, the bed and the back part of the cab loaded with parts.

My plans for this car is a street/strip monster. Im looking to run an RB25DET that is built laying down around 600hp. its probably gonna piss off a few people but im not slamming it and stretching tires. im gonna be running nice 10-12 inch drag radials with an aggressive rake on it.

I am waiting on my Subaru to sell to start on the motor. so right now im doing all the maintenance, suspension, brakes, and fuel system. i currently have a full bushing kit for the front and rear along with solid subframe bushings, rear 22mm sway bar, steering rack bushings, and isis front and rear arm kit.

hope to get more pics of the car and the teardown, but i found out my garage landlord hasnt been paying his bills. my garage is up for sherriffs office in march so im trying to find a garage to get started on this...

Sweet something different coming from an S-Chassis. In for this.

Shipman 01-27-2013 03:08 PM

Really awesome, how much did you pick it up for if you dont mine me asking?

hammtheman 01-27-2013 03:12 PM

i paid a grand for all of it. dude was super cool and was moving so he just wanted out. i forgot to add that i should be getting a slightly used set of koni yellows with ground control sleeves and a st 27mm front sway bar

Teku18 01-27-2013 04:19 PM

Damn wish I would have taken in interest in that deal. I really like that color on the shell you got.

hammtheman 01-27-2013 04:48 PM

yeah the deal was great and sorry to ruin it but im re-painting the car a metallic black

Teku18 01-28-2013 12:19 AM

Damn I wish I had the motor out of my car atm I would ask to trade shells haha. This should be sick when it is done.

mr_eh 01-28-2013 01:45 AM

good luck with your build for sure - why did you choose to go with the 25? and instead of the origin kits have you seen the type x stuff? it's a little cliche but on the right car it'd look great.

Seven 01-28-2013 03:51 AM

Cool idea but I'd rather use a cheaper motor if you're gonna make a drag car out of it.
Probably a 4.8L or 5.3L LS based motor... can get one with accessories for like $100. You can make 600whp with a decent turbo also... search the name denmah if you want to get an idea.

i like this.....now part out the wrx.

This brought me tears of joy.

If u want to save some money the q45 diff/axles swap has held up for over 800 whp setups. I know guys that are cutting low 1.4 high 1.3 60 fts. With stock axles

Twisted tuning 01-28-2013 10:51 AM

I am looking for a stock s13 subframe if u stil have one on the parts car as well.

I snapped oem 240 axles with 315whp... exedy triple plate said you break now.

the q45 is nice for drag setups

hammtheman 01-28-2013 01:44 PM

Mr eh - I did look a little I'm just looking for something that isn't super aggressive kinda want a sleeper exterior

Seven - I chose the RB25 cause I wanted to really stay in the Nissan family. I do like the 5.3 and have seen demah build but the RB just seemed like a better fit

Twisted - I have been looking around for diff options this was just the easiest route lol. I don't have an s13 sub frame. The parts car was basically for trans motor and interior ****. No suspension or anything

nismo300zxjdm 01-28-2013 01:51 PM

I have a Z32 NA LSD Diff with 4.09 for sale if you need it. And I also have a VH45DE as well ;)

Good luck with the build! Can't wait to see more!

hammtheman 01-28-2013 04:52 PM

how much would you want for the diff that would drop like a ton off the build, i would still have to run driveshaft shop axles though

nismo300zxjdm 01-28-2013 05:20 PM

I was lookin to get 175 but shoot me an offer. Just need to get it out of my shop. I have a crap load of Z32 stuff laying around so let me know if you need anything and I'll see if I got it.

mr_eh 01-28-2013 05:46 PM

yeah sleeper is nice - iw as trying to keep mine street-esque looking but failed miserably... the white paint made it look more like a show car :(

http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...=127018&page=2 but here's to another raked & radialed 240!
