took out some more weight and went 10.7's today

Video>>>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89_dC...ature=youtu.be

We didnt start running until 1030-11am. It was a bit warmer than what it showed a week ago but the DA was still around -1400 during my 10.75 pass.

Atco's scale was turned on per our request.

dropped 110lb from the car since the 10.84 pass. Today, the car weighed 2960 with me in it O_o

Yeah, I lightened it up a bit :D

My best pass of the day was a 10.75 @ 124.56 mph on a 1.388 60'

The air started going away as the day progressed. Around 4 pm I managed to run back to back 10.78's. If I ran in the same air as my 10.84 pass, I believe I could've squeaked out a 10.69 on a 60' in the 1.37's

I dont have video of the 10.75 pass (hopefully somebody there recorded it) but I have pictures, a timeslip and plenty of witnesses lol.

very nice times. I'm a little curious what you did to reduce the weight so much? I just wonder how severe/extreme you went with putting the car on a diet. I've seen lots of low weight c5's that went as crazy as removing unnecessary systems like active handling, abs, etc....and all wiring associated with it.

Kevin.G 08-21-2013 12:38 AM

what tires are you running?

renn 08-21-2013 11:13 PM

what were you trapping at 10.84 and what did you lose to shed the weight?

Silver_2001_C5 08-26-2013 01:33 PM

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been on in a while lol. Thanks for the compliments fellas. To answer your questions that you have-

about the weight- Anything that was removed can/has been put back in. I didnt cut anything or remove the abs/active handling stuff

Tires- Hoosier Drag Radials in a 275 40 17

Trapped 124.06 on my 10.84 pass, which was on the night before my 10.75 pass if i remember correctly

Those 60' times seem very quick for a 10.7 pass. Car grabs very nicely

Thank you. The 4l60E has a 3.06 1st gear ratio. when Combined with a 4k stall converter and 3.90 rear (and drag radials of course lol), you get neck snapping launches :D

Very cool, is the trans built? And how much hp is the car pushing? I'm looking to put a 4L60 or 80E into a nova to make cruising a little less nerve racking.

Stock trans with Transgo HD2 shift kit and tuning by me :D Being able to click off some fast passes and then cruise home with overdrive is nice

Thanks! lowered on 100% Stock suspension and removed the front swaybar . It takes a realllly low 1.4 or a high 1.3 60' to get the front tires off the ground with those C5's. If I had to guess, I'd say that's due to the IRS
