Guy hand builds a Countach in his basement

I thought this was pretty awesome. A lot of time and money involved. Not to mention the fact he had to wreck the wall of his basement to get the finished car out lol. Check it out! Hopefully not a repost

Wow that is impressive. Kind of hilarious that he built it in his basement with no way to get it out haha.

Sorry it was the first time I've seen it. I did a search and didn't find it posted here so I figured maybe others didn't see it.

yea its been around for a while but its still very impressive.

DrewSER 08-04-2012 04:49 AM

Somehow I managed to not see this the first time around. Pretty amazing.

Supraholic 08-04-2012 07:46 AM

I missed it as well. Unbelievable!!! Incredible craftsmanship!!! I'm restoring my supra from barebone up, and I've had to learn how to do many things in order to do them myself (that's the whole point of the project) and I can certainly appreciate the effort this guy put into that car!!!

Yellogixxer 08-04-2012 08:46 AM

Holy crap, that really is amazing! I wonder how long that all took. It probably says so somewhere in the story, but I just looked at the pics!

DrewSER 08-04-2012 10:49 AM

It was in the japolnik piece, 10 years.

Oh cool, thanks. Now I really don't have to go back and read it!

First time I seen it, very impressive!

Blahman240 08-04-2012 11:43 AM

dude I'd put a garage door where they took that wall down and make it a garage for the car! That's pretty sweet!

I hate replicas. I can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into it, but besides that I think it would have been cooler to make a ne off car... Obviously they have the know how.

how is this a replica? i would consider this a one off car because he fabricated everything himself. he didn't buy a kit and put it together.

Supraholic 08-05-2012 01:46 PM

I think is quite rewarding to have built your own car with your own hands, replica or not. However, if this guy would have so much worked a part-time job, regular blue collar job even, in 10 years he could've saved enough to buy the real thing! Especially since he obviously had additional money that he could've saved since he had the money to spend to build this car.

Are you kidding me? I don't care if it was built by santas elves, oompa loompas, or Elvis himself. Handmade or not, this is as much of a replica as a fiero with a countach kit... Maybe even More so since he went to such lengths to make it look EXACTLY like a countach... Including putting a countach badge on the back and Lamborghini emblem on the front.

uhh, he REPLICAted a countach....whether or not it's hand built, it's a replica of an existing car.

I am sure he built it as a number one priority being its a hobby and something he has a passion to do. Probably just wanted to test his skills, and always wanted one. Just because people can afford things, doesn't mean they are comfortable just dropping that much money on something. Plus I am sure it cost him a fraction of what the real deal costs... Depending how much trial and error he had to go through
