Road Race Strategy Meet

Well some of us guys that are going road racing this season are planning some kind of meet to talk suspension, brakes, driving tactics and most of all where we are going and when. I am not sure where we want to do this or when it will happen but we should plan something soon. If you are at all interested you should come and check it out! Post up some ideas!

TurboTagTeam 04-05-2006 04:12 PM

Let's have the meet at Limerock

And instead of standing around and talking we could kill a couple sets of tires

I'm down for whatever. At the moment I'm still waiting for my car though. Should be out and shreading within a week or two.

I thought there would be more interest in this. This meet would be to kind of plan out the season because i am sure all of us know about diff events. BUMP people

TROLL 04-06-2006 11:58 AM

i want to get to a road race or three this year. only took a few laps at one event a couple years ago, and have done some autoxing. i'll keep posted on this thread...

TehWagon 04-06-2006 11:58 AM

me as well -subscribing for when there's more specifics :)

US_R33 04-06-2006 12:13 PM

just to keep the meet on topic i think it would be best if only the people who actual have a genuine interest and fully intend on attending an event with us attend this meet.....otherwise the meet will end up straying way off topic and we probably won't be able to accomplish much ya know

as for any specifics of a meet.....depending on how many people have an interest we're more than welcome to have the meet @ my place

Late,
Daniel

I would love to do some of that stuff w/ my talon . I plan on doing my suspension once everything is worked out. I already got strut bars and a rear tie rod to help me out. Though I'm sure they won't do much on a FWD car. Anyway I'm totally interested in this :)

US_R33 04-06-2006 02:18 PM

strut bars will only be as effective as loose as the chassis is....if you have a stiff chassis then strut tower bars won't be all the effective....but on a car like yours i imagine the strut tower bars will have a more significant effect on the car

as for the rear tie rod??? you mean rear toe adjustment bars?

on a side note....lets please keep this thread on the original topic of road race meet

So here is my idea. I say we pick a date and have do this at someones house. I think we should include some hot dogs or hamburgers

TurboTagTeam 04-06-2006 05:33 PM

My neighboors allready hate me cause of my loud ass car so my house is out.

I like the idea of the meet though

I do pocono once a year with my car club. i would be interested in a meet.

Jlb725 04-06-2006 09:05 PM

I think it would be a good idea to set a date for a HPDE at a near by track such as Pocono or something. There are many groups that hold HPDE's at Pocono such as PDA,NASA and SCCA. If anyone is interested in this idea I can collect some info and maybe put something together.

This meet wont be driving, it will be planning out where everyone is going (gives us MANY more options because not everyone knows every date), discussing setups, race stategy, and shooting the SHIIT.

US_R33 04-06-2006 10:49 PM

okay how bout we do this....April 16th @ my house.....brand new deck was just finished at the end of last summer and needs to be broken in ....time will be for 12:30.....i'll have the BBQ setup and ready.....who's going to bring the food???

that would be great if you could gather up all the info about events going on at Pocono and bring that info to the meet

if we could have one person get the info for each track that would really smooth things out i think

VIR-
The Glen-
Lime Rock-
Summit Point-
Pocono- Jim (Jlb725)
Beaver Run??-

i have driven watkins glen (my favorite) & pocono and will go back to the glen this year.
pocono is less technical.
nhis is pretty technical.

i will try and make it to limerock this year as well as summit point-depends on my schedule.

there are websites for each one of these facilities? what info are you looking for?

i know the sites for all the tracks and everything

i was more or less asking that the people who will be attending this road racing meet bring the info they have so that we can all be on the same page when discussing schedules and committing which races we'll definitely be attending

back to the topic at hand.....does the 16th @ my place work out???

Jlb725 04-06-2006 11:23 PM
