"Low Budget Racing" 800WHP+ GTI!
 

Here are some pictures of the 2012 set up. The car is tuned by Kevin Black and was built on a some what small budget. The fab work was done by Mark @ Hell Bent Race Cars & Customs. The car is still streetable. I take it to work about 2 days a week and leave the chute on and everything.

1/4 mile time?

All last season we were chasing trans issues. The car wouldn't shift above 8,000rpms but the fastest pass we made ( which is embarrassing to say ) was a 11.17 @ 131. That was basically short shifting every gear just to put a number up. This year we put a SQS dog box in the car so we should be good to go.

That was also on the old 6765

I'm not a VW fan but the car looks CRAZY!

The low budget thing is because I can't pony up and afford to run Outlaw SFWD and compete. We can ALMOST compete in Trust Street/SFWD with this setup

Well my side business is a own line parts store. I am goin to contact a moderate on here and see how much to advertise on here . But to answer the question I bought this car new off the show room floor back in 2003 when I was 17 so since then this car had numerous set ups on it so I would say i have about close to 70k into it.

shame all that cash for a FWD launcher

i bet i can throw 10-15k into a civic,make less power and run a faster time..wait,i can but this is so bad asss! props to you for trying something different

My friend has a 450hp VW that is about dead even with my Z06. I drove his car and don't think it could handle much more power because with r comps on it there is traction issues.

I can't see how almost double that power does anything more then dyno queen.

Still an awesome build though.

^^^i agree. i make 440whp on a dynojet and ran 11.1 on my one and only pass so far

The car does 1.68 60fts and we can get them lower when we finally get all bugs out of the car.
As for the traction comments this isn't 1999 anymore. We control the boost with the rear wheel speed. <3 SEM
How could anyone compare a Honda to a VW? Honda's better flowing heads, better Trans, and weigh a lot less.

You mean Track queen that's good for single digit passes with the right tire's/slicks (or in this case) tranny set up.

I would think even RWD cars would have some issues with R comps and 800whp.

Love the "this isn't 1999 anymore" comment.. It's so true.. Way to many people still think if somethings FWD it's prob. only good for 14 second passes and anything over X amount of HP is a waste. It's like they only sit on the internet and go to sonic meets rather then actual Race events...

Major Prop's to you for this Build.. I would walk past just about every Retailed 70k car to check yours out and spark up conversation because of the work done.
