not sure what the excitement is all about right now. hoping after these years have passed we get something new other than slightly improved graphics.

why all the hype every year over call of duty? it's been roughly the same **** since 2004 afterall? god forbid a group of people be excited for another one of those too...

I finally agree with you haha. Seriously such a better series than COD. Its the same thing with different weapons and maps over and over again.

I just bought GTA4 Complete Edition for $25. Haven't played it yet, but I also own the original GTA4 which I never beat. I remember getting stuck on one mission and no matter how much I tried, I couldn't pass it. I'll give the 2 other games in the collection a shot before GTA5 comes out.

because theres only so much you can do with the basic polygon graphics. there is new technology coming out though that looks very promising for gaming.

Watched the trailer yesterday, honestly wasnt that impressed. But I'm DEF still gonna get it. :D

I hope the flyby at the end means that they put actual planes back in the game and not just dildos. lol

I'm not being defensive...I'm using common sense....something you didn't before you posted your OP, to explain why people are excited.

You asked a stupid question...I gave you the obvious answer....

All that is, is telescoping... Its not new, and IMO if game companies started using this, games in general would be regressing.

Basically, modern games have environments, and you are able to interact with that environment, just like we do in real life. For example, if you are playing GTA online, you are shooting at a bunch of people on the sidewalk :lol: and someone else is behind you, making a parking lot of stolen cars. Thats all happening whether you see it or not. With telescoping, all that "exists" is what is on your screen. When you are facing a car, and turn around, that car is no longer actually there. Which is why they are able to step away from the polygons, and amp the graphics up.

Its possible to make it great, but the amount of work to do so would be like 100x the amount of work games take now.



Im with scape though, I love GTA but ever since 3, nothing has really changed. Its a great title, but they definitely aren't as popular now as they were 7 years ago. Games like COD can reuse content because they are primarily focus on online play, and they are FPS. So no matter how many hours you play a day, every game you enter is different.

I play GTA for the story, man! Giving you an accurately researched time period and writing 50+ intersecting story lines isn't exactly a cake walk, all the while massively improving graphics and controls from previous iterations. It has always been a really big game, and for someone who plays mostly offline, that's a huge attraction for me.

and games like GTA are focused on their 30+hr single player.....every one of which has been entirely different....just like COD it has a focus, and some aspects are reused (because well...they should be) but the primary focus is an awesome story line and every game since 3 has had one.

I thought GTAIV was good....could have been better with better multiplayer, although it wasn't terrible in IV, and a bigger map. And as far as I'm concerned San Andreas has been the best of the series, with the biggest map...so if they bring it back for the next gen console, reworked a bit, and give me another huge single player campaign which seems like what they're doing....SOLD.

we all like different things in gaming...which is why so many different genres of game sells well...to make a stupid comment like "why all the excitement" about a GTA game, AND a Rockstar game no less....the question basically answers itself before it's asked, IF he bothered to think about it.

I don't get excited over COD either, so i guess i don't understand the flippant woohoo's resounding across the internet for something that, on the surface, doesnt appear to have anything different than prior versions, other than the great storyline that is.

I'm excited to hear more about the gameplay, but until then i'm going to reserve my excitement and not get overly and dramatically defensive about other's opinions
