Went to VIR over the weekend
for Round 4 of the WKA National Road Race Series presented by Mazda :) Running the North Course.
went down to watch and help out my dad. had the GoPro but it was 100+ degrees all three days so i didnt get it hooked up. races went well, had 2 red flags. the first on saturday, guy and kart went end over end a few times and had to be helivac'ed to the hospital, last i heard hes stable and doing good i ended up racing my buddy Bens kart on saturday... (*side note* when you put new tires on the front and leave the old ones on the back...its VERY LOOSE) started last (11th place) and on the first lap i was in 2nd. on the third lap i spun in turn 1 got going again and spun another 3 times throughout the race due to being very loose...my best lap time was a 1:44.4 i was faster then Bens time by .8 tenths :) ended up finishing 3rd only to go over the scales and weighed in 3lbs lite....i was DQ'd :( oh well all in all it was a good weekend and has me itching to get my kart ready for the National race at NJMP in Sept 23-25 not sure if were on Thunderbolt or Lightning -brandon |
damn that sucks about being DQ'd. wouldnt it make more sense for them to weigh the cars before the race?
|
no because its easier this way, more uniformed
|
Nice report and sounds like you had fun anyway in spite of the DQ.
Couldn't you eat a couple Big Mac's before weigh-in? |
lol i wish, i never scaled the kart and me after practice to see where i was w/ weight, if i need to add lead or not. so really it was my fault for not checking
but i had a great time non the less -brandon |
