at&t users, need help with choosing new phone

My iphone is starting to piss me off. I have a white 16GB 3GS and the thing has its moments where I feel like chucking it at the wall. Apps constantly crash more often, its slower than ever, and a lot of other things. I just wonder if its my phone or the service (which sucks). So I thought maybe I'd look into something else from at&t but I dont know whats good and whats not. I like the HTC Inspire. Im just trying to get some feedback on which smartphones are good

lownslow95 05-25-2011 05:34 PM

IMHO AT&T blows.

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 05:40 PM

I know but im stuck with them :\

I wanna switch to verizon

lownslow95 05-25-2011 05:40 PM

Do it and you can still get an iPhone...if you really like yours. If not you can get a Droid.

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 05:43 PM

I imagine what happened to at&t with iphones is going to happen to verizon. But the fact is im stuck with at&t because im on a business plan with my parents and im not really paying anything towards it. I just want to find a better phone

lownslow95 05-25-2011 05:47 PM

Ah gotcha. Well I haven't had verizon in 2 years or so, so I don't know what they have anymore to offer as a phone.

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 05:49 PM

I have no idea either. Before the iphone, i used to buy a new phone every year because something new always came out but I've had two iphones and I loved it. Dont get me wrong, the phone is good, but I want to know if there is anything better out now

lownslow95 05-25-2011 05:50 PM

check there site to see what they got.

I just got my iPhone 3gs and it was between that and the inspire. Both are good phones and mine never acts up. The inspire is good too but I just picked the iPhone for how easy it is to put music on it.

How often do you update and connect to iTunes? How many apps do you have open at a time? What are you running it with? This all can make what your experiencing happen.

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 05:57 PM

I update once a month and I have no more than 30 apps

If usually dont have more than 4 apps running at once. I mainly use it for facebook, tapatalk, email, texting, calling, and music

I've had every iPhone since they came out. AT&T for almost 7 years.

Not a single issue. How much free space do you have on your phone?

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 06:02 PM

I have at least 8GB left

evomike 05-25-2011 06:02 PM

That was the next question because I've never had a problem and my service is great.

DPancoast 05-25-2011 06:10 PM

hmmm. I'd backup your phone and get an apple store to look at it. OR. start from scratch and reinstall everything.

I use my phone more than I touch my weener and never have any problems. Even when I had the 3GS it was packed fuller than that!

Sublime1304 05-25-2011 06:13 PM

It's a good phone no doubt but maybe I kinda wanna try a different phone too

I guess I'm also tired of the phone

I've been with AT&T for like 10 years and I've basically hated almost every phone I've owned until my current one...

HTC Inspire! I've owned Blackberrys and iphones and in my opinion, nothing has been quite as user friendly or awesome as my HTC. My brother even noticed that its the first phone that I brag about rather than yell about, haha.

I played around with the Inspire in the store and it was really nice. I would most likely find one on craigslist so I don't have to get out of my contract early

jpalamar 05-25-2011 06:27 PM

Try restorning it to factory. Yes, you will lose everytihng but its worth a shot.

Its definitely worth it if you can find one.

The only thing that REALLY bothers me about the phone is its TERRIBLE battery life. If you're on the phone as much as I am, you'll need a car charger to get you through the day. If you can't handle bad battery life, then its not the phone for you. Otherwise, its awesome.
