OEM Replacement Exhausts (non-performance)
Probably not too popular of a discussion on here, but figure I'll put it up here for those who might be interested.
I just bought a Civic hatch for a daily and have no interest in modding it, just having a reliable car that gets great mileage. The muffler is rusted out and loud and annoying. Looking for a replacement, I have found a few OEM-replacement options... 1) OEM Honda from Majestic Honda for about $150 shipped 2) OEM-replacements from Bosal, Walker, etc. for $50-100 I read reviews and decided to roll the dice on Bosal's premium line of OEM-replacement mufflers for $80 shipped. I bought it through Advance Auto Parts so if it doesnt fit properly or if it isn't as quiet as stock I can take it back for a full refund. Anyone else buy an OEM-replacement exhaust before? I almost religiously go with genuine OEM parts (or quality aftermarket performance parts) but am not trying to indulge too much on this Civic since it is supposed to be a money-saving mode of transportation. |
If I knew about this I would have gotten you a hook up on the price.

We do complete OEM replacements at work occasionally,we get all walker products at a stupid deal, and they usually always fit
|
I've gotten walker products twice. Once with my old isuzu and more recently with my jeep. Both pieces were great

I could still return this one... ordered from Advance Auto Parts using a $35 off coupon... total price was about $75 shipped. I can take it in to an AAP for a full refund after it arrives (even after an attempted install) which is one of the reasons I decided to try it.
I opted for Bosal's OEM "premium" line vs. their "value" line which was about a $20 difference in price. Just crossing my fingers that it 1) fits properly and 2) is quiet. Matt I'll shoot you a PM in case you think you can point me in a better direction, thanks. Thanks for the other responses too :) |
its advance auto bruh, as long as you have the receipt, and the product isn't damaged, modded or had additional hangers welded to it, there shouldn't be an issue w the return. Best policy, when in doubt call one of the advance stores and propose the question at hand to them. GL w the repair.

OEM or walker. When i worked at a honda shop, walker was a brand name that was seen around here and there when we were out of some Misc parts.
