Audio Suggestion

I just bought an SRT so I need audio guru's to help me make up my mind. I currently have 1 12" JL W1. The Eclipse this sub was previously in was a lot louder because the trunks are part of the car and not seperate like a SRT. I was curious if I should get a second 12" JL W1 or just save up and buy 1 12" JL W3? Will the W3 be louder than the 2 W1's...?

Start w/ what you have and see if you like it Josh. The W3 will be a good bit tighter than the W1 and will handle some more power. I personally, would rather have 1 W3 than 1 or even 2 W1s.

Whatever you do please dynomat or spray your trunk. :wiggle:

I agree with the above btw about one W3 rather than two W1's

I had 2 12" W3V2's in my old SRT...it was loud as hell, and the bass was tight..

Would it still have been pretty loud with one 12" W3 do you think? I'm not trying to go overkill just a nice tight bass that you can ever so slightly feel.

Possibly, i mean if i would have had the money i probably would have just installed 1 10"W6 or a 12w6

I'd say 10" is a negative for any sub, thats just my opinions. Always go 12" (or higher if its a good brand)

You can make 1 10" w3 louder and sound better than 2 12s.... Or even one 12.

Save up and get a 10" w3 or a w6, get an amp that can feed it the power it needs and call it a day. If you dont have door speakers to back it up it's just going to be noise anyway.

The 2 10w6s in my Evo sounded amazing. Probably my favorite affordable sub.

And why is that? A good 10" sub will reproduce some of the tightest and most accurate bass possible.

try moving it around? Check neons.org and see how that car likes the sub positioned if I remember my 02 neon either like them facing up or facing one corner or the other if I remember right. Also is it just a generic sealed or jl box? If so talk to a good audio shop into making a box for that car in a good ported box with a low tune frequency or a little higher tuned if you listen to club or rap type music.
