cheep tire mounting in pa

anyone know of places that will take off and put on tires for very low charge? I want to start drifting but I need to find a shop that dosnt charge me like crazy to put tires on. near Philadelphia or in the Whitemarsh, Norristown, Conshohocken, Plymouth.... area

Seems like around me all of the chains are absolutely insane ($140 for 4 somewhat common sized wheels @STS, nothing exotic)\

call a few of the smaller shops and ask what they charge

Check out importintelligence they are located in west chester and are super awesome. I have had tires mounted there a number of times. They cater to the drift crowd so there prices are very reasonable.

here is the link to there website http://importintelligence.com/

what do you guys pay on average per tire mounted/balanced? I've never seen under $25ish near me, and I've asked around a lot

I know it depends on size, but just in general

sounds great ill give them a call, sounds like the type of place that would strech a tire a little bit for me.

yeah Ive tried calling a couple places but I dont even really know of many places and the cheepest I found was pepboys at $110 for all 4, but reading on another thread someone had said walmart did theirs for $12 something per tire so Il have to call them but im afraid with 18s theyll prolly jack the price way up

It pains me to say this, but, if you don't care about the wheels then Walmart is the cheapest. If the wheels matter to you, then I would say one of the more specialty shops.

I agree with this. Ive had tires mounted balanced at walmart before without problems. No stretch but 17" rims.

I just had my girlfriends winter tires mounted and balanced at a place local to me for $45, but thats up in the poconos and on 14" rims.

I'll do them on the side for you. Are they going to be on the car or are you just bringing me a set of wheels and a set of tires? I'll do it really cheap, but we are only allowed to work on the side on certain days, so we might have to plan ahead, no last minute popins.:(

just buy a cheap tire machine and do them yourself. if you wanna get into drifting it will pay for itself

wow thats awesome, what size did you have done?

wheresmycar 01-30-2011 12:58 AM

Is the tire place only in Super walmarts that are open 24hours? I don't remember a tire place at the regular walmarts. I only remember them at sam's club.

Come up to Penn College and have the students do it for free. They mounted and balanced 4 tires on the 19" wheels on my M3 and it came out just as good as any shop would. No scratched rims, no tire damage, etc.

willits8 01-31-2011 01:23 AM

How do i do that? like who/what do I ask for?

18's low profiles they did for that price.

only walmarts that have a tire and lube center.

and dont take your car there, only your wheels. the mexicans will enjoy your ride too much trust me. i watched them tear around the parking lot in mine after doing my wheels.

willits8 02-01-2011 07:15 PM

Haha thanks for the advise

Just call and say you're a student, and ask when you can bring them in. They don't ask for a student ID number unless you're dropping off the car, so just bring the wheels in off the car.
