Anyone here live in Manayunk? I will be moving there and wanted peoples feedback as for what its like living there and what the car scene is like.

AutobahnRacer 11-27-2010 10:16 PM

DAMN IT! I thought I was in off topic, mod please move this post to off-topic please.

i dont live there but im close. manayunk has a good bar scene, parking is an f'ing biotch (dont have a nice car itll get banged up. almost no off street parking and very narrow streets) and its expensive. other than that its a fun place to go out. i would recommend living outside of manayunk like roxborough or places like that. car scence is good i guess considering its huge in montgomery county which is north and has a decent one in delaware county which is south

no car scene here-
I live in the area.
Lagos is from here too.

How scary is it coming home in a snow ice storm?

it sucks
one year in my civic I couldn't get it up the hill, so i parked and walked five blocks lol.

luckily I found a spot.

Do yourself a favor and find a place with a driveway or garage.

Luckily I live on a down hill haha.

i live in the yunk but the car scene is notta nip nil notta

everyone runs into each other, so its not worth keeping anything nice out here. Awesome for bars and womenz though!

true dat... the hunting is good in these parts

there is a nice black turbo 930 on LM's, a few e90/e92's, and rich kids with f430's and a 550 maranello... no real "fun tuner cars" though

yeah i saw one house off of cresson with a ferrari lambo and gt3 once sitting in the driveway.
i was looking at that house but didn't want to spent 600k on a tiny rowhome lol

PAFirefighter11 12-01-2010 12:22 PM

I just moved to Manayunk about a week ago. I have my M3 in town and yah, it'll get bumped front and rear I'm sure... such is "City life" it seems. I love it here though already. Parking sucks, but if you can deal with that it's worth it!

AutobahnRacer 12-01-2010 03:58 PM

You mean bumped around in town, or residential areas too?

Wherever you parallel park it's possible.

I've seen these on a few vehicles:
